Re: Assembly Ticket May be lost...
I read with disappointment the narrative by a commentator with the pseudonym or corruptly spelt name: Hortunba Horlayinka Harleshinloye.
In the opinion the writer appealed to Egunjobi to move on by accepting the controversial pronouncement of Abiola as the winner of APC Primary for Agege 01 Constituency.
He also called on to rally his supporters for Gbenga Abiola's candidacy for the main election.
I tried to make sense of the write-up, but my efforts were fruitless.
For context, in the results declared by the electoral umpires won the election with 9,132 votes and came a distant third with north of 400 votes.
Party faithful made their choice on that particular APC primary day by voting massively for .
On a lighter mood, madness must be afflicting them at Acme to have foisted on those party faithful from Agege 01 who stood in the rain and sun on that election day to cast their votes for .
Seriously, I know for a fact that this Acme shenanigan is all about getting at Obasa by the latter's adversaries within and outside Agege whose obsession is extinguishing the political influence of Obasa.
Truth be told, Agege and her people have reaped bountifully from the influence Obasa wields. Not few of our folks are in the civil service courtesy him while lot of state government projects in Agege are at his instance.
Pre-Obasa's reign, Agege didn't have it this good, in terms of its share of the state cake.
At best, we were then on the menu.
And now that we have a seat at the table, our enemies under the guise of politics recruited one of us in a bid to unseat us and take us back to Egypt.
