Moderators are the heartbeat of any panel session, guiding the flow of discussions, carrying the audience along, and ensuring that every conversation aligns with the overall goal and focus of the event. At Tech Convergence 2.0, our moderators did just that, turning each session into an engaging and purposeful dialogue that inspired action and made participants to become joint stakeholders.

It takes someone deeply committed to building Nigeria’s digital identity to anchor conversations on how the .ng domain stands as critical digital infrastructure for our sovereignty, competitiveness and growth

At Tech Convergence 2.0, Ms. Oloruntobi Adejare exemplified this commitment as she led actionable conversations on how adopting our national online identity through the .ng domain is essential to strengthening digital sovereignty and safeguarding Nigeria’s digital assets.

Mr. Peter Oluka, who is no stranger to Nigeria’s DNS and internet space, started his journey as a .ng Ambassador before joining the NiRA Executive Board of Directors in 2023. As an advocate who deeply understands how the .ng domain and the DNS sector drive growth and innovation, he skillfully moderated the session on “Beyond Domains: DNS as a Growth Engine for Collaborative Innovation and Expansion.”

Every conversation advanced the call to adopt and own our digital identity, ensuring that Nigeria remains secure, innovative, and sovereign in the digital age.

You can’t talk about the Internet in Nigeria, West Africa, or even Africa without mentioning Mrs. Mary Uduma.

As first stated by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees NiRA, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, and seconded by Mr. Inye Kemabonta, the growth of the Nigerian Internet space cannot be mentioned without acknowledging Mrs. Mary Uduma fondly known as “Mama Internet.”

Her immense impact and invaluable contributions have helped shape the Internet ecosystem as we know it today. We extend our deepest appreciation to this remarkable woman of many titles, one of which includes serving on the Board of Trustees of NiRA.

To achieve true digital sovereignty and strengthen local infrastructure, both key pillars of a thriving digital economy, the role of government cannot be excluded. It was therefore fitting to have the Nigerian Senate present. Here’s a more polished and professional version of your sentence:

Senator Diket Plang represented the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at the event, lending his voice to this important national conversation.

In his address, his reflections drew attention to the tangible value within the digital economy. “The Internet is rich and intangible, but the product is tangible,” he said—a statement that encapsulated the transformative potential of the digital landscape. He continued, “We now live in a digital world, and as we embrace its endless possibilities, we must also take ownership of our presence online, and the true mark of that ownership is through the .ng domain.”
