3 years ago, I built version 1 of Smart Campus - a school management system using PHP, Jquery and Nigerian hosting services.

It worked. But as users increased, the product’s response time began to slow down.

Fast forward to today, Smart Campus v2 - a complete ground up rebuild for Nigerian schools.

Here’s what changed:
V1 -> V2
PHP + Jquery -> Next Js + Nest Js
Manual fee collection -> Paystack integration with QR receipts
Static timetables -> Live GPS bus tracking for parents
Basic attendance -> Geofenced clock/out for staff and students

Other features includes:
CBT exams with proctoring
Real-time messaging
HR management
Hostel management
Chat bot
Finance report
Payroll
Library management
Mobile application

The hardest part wasn’t the code, it was understanding what schools actually need after years of watching v1 being used.

V1 taught me how to build, v2 taught me how to think.
