*Good day, my people. Dr. Now here. I don write this message because e heavy my heart say too many of our brothers and sisters dey suffer quietly. Make I talk am straight โ no long grammar.*

# # The Truth We Must Face ๐
My people, after 30 years treating patients from Sokoto to Calabar, from village to city, I don see wetin mental sickness dey do our families. The thing pain me well well.
**Listen:** 4 out of every 10 Nigerians get mental health problems. Yes, you hear am correct. That means for your family of 10 people, 4 of them fit dey struggle inside their mind quietly.
But we dey treat am like say na curse or say person weak. **This na lie from pit of hell.**
# # Why We Dey Hide Am? ๐ค
# # # "Na Juju or Curse"
My Igbo people say *"Onye mara ife o mere ka chi ya jiri hap ya"* โ the person knows what they did that made their god abandon them. **But this no be true for mental sickness.** Depression, anxiety, trauma โ these things fit happen to pastor, imam, traditional ruler, student, anybody. E no be spiritual attack every time.
# # # "People Go Say You Mad"
Ah! This one pain me pass. Because person dey feel sad for weeks or months, suddenly e become *"onye ala"* (mad person)? **God forbid.** If your pressure high, you go hospital. If your mind sick, you suppose do same thing.
# # # "We No Sabi Am"
True talk โ many of us no really understand mental health. We think say if you strong spiritually or you get money, mental sickness no fit touch you. **Wrong thinking.**
# # What Mental Sickness Really Look Like ๐ญ
My dear people, make I explain am simple:
- **Person no dey sleep well for weeks** (not just one night wahala)
- **E dey withdraw from family and friends**
- **Small small thing dey make am vex or cry**
- **E no fit concentrate for work or school**
- **E dey think say life no get meaning**
- **Sometimes e fit dey hear voices or see things wey no dey there**
**If you see these signs for yourself or person wey you love, no ignore am.**
Na sickness be that, just like malaria or diabetes. And thank God, treatment dey available.
# # The Heavy Cost ๐ข
My people, when we no address mental health:
- **8 out of 10 people wey need help no dey get am**
- Our children dey drop out of school because of depression
- Marriages dey scatter because we no understand say partner dey sick mentally
- Young people dey use drugs and alcohol to manage their pain
- Some people dey even kill themselves
**This thing must stop.** As Yoruba people dey say, *"Bi a ba n gun igi ni a ti n ri oke"* โ it's by climbing a tree that one sees the hill. We must start somewhere.
# # What I Want Make You Know ๐ช
# # # Mental Health Na Real Health

# # # You No Be Weak Person
If you dey struggle mentally, you strong pass many people. To wake up every day when your mind dey fight you? **That na warrior spirit.** Make nobody tell you say you weak.
