AI is making it easier than ever to build.
That’s true.
But it’s also making it easier to ship things you don’t fully understand.
The problem isn’t people using .
It’s how they’re using it.
I’ve seen founders:
=> Generate entire backends
=> Plug in authentication
=> Connect payments
…without knowing what’s happening underneath.
It works.
Until it doesn’t.
So no—using AI isn’t the mistake.
Using it blindly is.
If you’re building with AI, here’s what you should do differently:
• Treat AI output as a draft, not a final product
• Understand the critical paths (auth, payments, data flow)
• Test like a real user would. Not just “does it run” but “can it break?”
• Add basic safeguards for example Rate limits. Validation. Error handling. etc.
• Slow down where it matters
• Speed is useless if trust breaks
NOTE ✍️✍️✍️
AI didn’t remove the need for thinking.
It made it more important.
Because now the bottleneck isn’t building…
It’s understanding what you built.
