LOAD BALANCING

The word "load balancing" in electrical distribution is as critical as the project itself. It's easier to achieve a balanced load in a domestic project than a commercial projects because you only balalnce it via a DB in domestic but different network of distributions through a panel is required in a commercial or industrial project.

One of the first lessons to learn in a load balancing concept is L1, L2 and L3 concept in an electrical design on a distribution board . On every professional electrical design, each circuit is assigned to a line and it's load capacity is properly distributed to create a load balance at the end . If all AC are loaded on L3 while others are distributed on L1 and L2, there is 80% chance that the load will not balance because ACs have more power than other electrical item . To balance properly , we work around distributing heavy load across the three phase lines evenly. Unbalance load in a distribution system create an uneven character in your electrical system . Balance your load evenly by using a professional Digital meter to take each phase measurement . This will help make informed decision on which phase has more load than others. The rule of balancing load is to make sure no phase is more than 1% difference than the other phase .

Balance your load , it's key to any healthy and stable electrical unit. For commercial distribution system the panel is a place to balance load after the DB balancing .

Let's talk about breakers .MCB and MCCB. MCB is called miniature circuit breaker , MCCB module case circuit breaker . While MCB is very popular in low current protection which is domestic most times ranging from 6amos to 100amps , MCCB is mainly used in industrial or commercial breakers which can protect ratings from 100amps to 1000amps . This breakers mainly have what we call current .they both have trip characteristics which aids the MCB to break when it senses an abnormal current ,short circuit or overload. It trips to help protect the loads connected to a circuit . Reason why it's always good to calculate and specify the accurate ratings for a circuit to avoid over specification or under specification .

Every DB has breakers with different ratings for light, sockets AC ,cookers and other elements in the home.

We have single pole ,double ,three pole and four pole breakers to cater for several needs of every load . So be sure not to guess work your breakers .
