We look back at the profoundly moving tributes to a true soldier of the gospel, Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings.
Following his shocking passing on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the entire Nigerian gospel music community and fans worldwide were plunged into mourning. Exactly one week later, friends, family, and fellow gospel artists gathered in a massive show of love for an emotional candlelight procession in Olambe, Ogun State.
Even as the heavens opened up with torrential rain, it could not deter the crowd that poured into the streets of Ogun State. Dressed in solemn black attire and bearing beautiful, large framed portraits of the minister, they marched from Olambe Square Market to Koye Isale to celebrate the gift that he was to the body of Christ. The atmosphere was a heavy blend of deep sorrow and worship—a true testament to a man who lived his life connecting people to God through energetic praise and heartfelt ministration.
Toluwanisings blessed our stereos and altars with unforgettable tracks like "Unreserved Praise," "Owo Re Meji Meji," and "Onibuore." His voice may be quieted in the physical realm, but his ministry remains undefeated. The souls he won, the joy he generated, and the impactful seeds he planted will echo through generations.
Our heart continues to go out to his beautiful wife, his young children, and his entire family in Ibadan, Oyo State, and beyond. We pray that God grants them divine strength through this difficult transition.
Brother Tolu, your earthly assignment is complete, but your music will live forever. Rest well in the bosom of the Lord.
