Bimpe (Not real name) was a beautiful young lady who saw herself through the university, elated of the many promises she got from loved ones on a possible fix-up on a lucrative job offer after the completion of her one year mandatory National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC).

Years after, our paths crossed and the Bimpe I saw now is a shadow of herself! She allowed depression get the better part of her from the many disappointments she got from those juicy promises while on campus waiting for her after graduation.

Alas! I cheered her up, and told her the bitter truth I will be sharing with us this week:

I welcome us again to another wonderful week. Before us is a very crucial issue of dealing with disappointments, dearly beloved, before I proceed, permit me to establish the following bitter facts:

** No one on earth owes you anything.
** Your receiving from people are mere kindness and not an entitlement.
** The person(s) sent by Providence only to help you will eventually help you, help is not a function of relation or bloodline.

Now, disappointments are those bad feelings you get when something does not go the way you desire or wish.

Now that you have been in that dungeon of depression as a result of disappointments, I come your way this morning to let you know that it is time for you to CHEER UP!

You ask how do I cheer up.

The following under listed can guide you through overcoming this present phase:

Firstly, be kind to yourself, disappointments come with forgetting oneself which you must start to avoid, get up, take a shower, get a good meal, take a nap and get up to strategize.

Secondly, there is a saying that your network determines your net worth, you have got to surround yourself with people of value, people better of yourself which can encourage your healing and growth process.

Thirdly, your mind is a determinant factor to your success, if you will be winning, it all starts from your mind, just picture you winning from your mind, speak it out, make it a part of you and everything about you will flow in that direction.

Fourthly, you see for every situation in life, there are things to take away from it, so let this experience be a learning process for you, learn that your total dependence on Providence is the way to go, learn that His ways are not your ways, learn that for Mr. A or Mrs. B not coming through for you in that situation means God will be doing it without them and man will not be able to take the glory but God.

Lastly, it’s time to GET UP! It’s time to start all over again. It’s time to avoid what brought you to this stage and go back to the drawing board and craft a better picture with Providence taking the steering, remember He already told you in His word that “Faith without work is dead”, so He hates a lazy fellow!

Take some few seconds and smile to yourself, allow for these hormones: dopamine, endorphins and serotonin to be in abundance as you will feel good afterwards.

Rver worked to a point you no longer comprehend?

Ever read to a point the assimilation appears to have disappear into thin air?

Ever been trying to getting solution to a technical problem and it looks like the more you try, the more it becomes a mountain?

My dear, you are not alone on this, it all happens in the human journey of life.

At this point when you notice the aforementioned, what are you to do?

I hear you saying putting more effort!

I say:

NO!

Then you ask, what do I do?

It's a simple but important task you never thought of.

Behold what is this task?

It's RESTING!

When you give your body, soul and spirit to REST at this stage, behold you will be preventing a shutdown of your body system which may be fatal to ones overall wellbeing.

Takeout some time off that thing draining much of you at that particular time.

Get relaxed in your own best way.

REST!!!

I bet it with you, when you are back to duty, you are coming back refreshed with new innovations to pull through any quagmire.

In times past with major events capable of changing the status quo, behold the lifesaver in such times have been access to timely information.

The famine in Egypt was avoided by virtue of timely information from Joseph.

The destruction of Namaan from leprosy was averted due to timely information from his servant girl.

Our focus today is on getting timely information and ability not to jettison or underrate any source of information; human being in this case.

In the two above listed examples, the recipient of those information could have refuted them because they came from unexpected sources that would have been so easy to push aside.

As you go in the affairs of this week, do the following:

Allow the Holy Spirit lead you.

Build bridges irrespective of your profile.

Consider all information irrespective of where it may be emanating from.

In most cases, the messenger might not look like the message, get the message provided it's timely and efficient.

Pride leads to a fall while humility exalts, choose the latter.

Do have a productive week ahead.
