1. Display size and technology
iPhone Duo: 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer display.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: 7.6-inch inner display and 5.5-inch cover display.
Both feature 120Hz-class displays, but Apple uses Super Retina XDR OLED, while Samsung uses Dynamic AMOLED 2X.
Difference: Their inner screens are the same size, but Samsung's cover display is slightly larger. Apple's nano-texture finish is designed to reduce glare on its inner screen.
2. Rear cameras
iPhone Duo: Two 48MP rear cameras.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: A 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Difference: Neither standard model has a dedicated rear telephoto camera. Samsung's main camera has a slightly higher stated resolution, but megapixels alone do not determine image quality.
For content creators, real-world video quality, autofocus, stabilization and colour processing matter more than megapixel count.
3. Operating system and multitasking
iPhone Duo: iOS 27.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: Android 17 with One UI 9.
Difference: Apple's foldable integrates with the Apple ecosystem, while Samsung offers Android's broader customization options and Galaxy AI features.
Both support multitasking on their large inner displays. Samsung's Android-based interface is particularly suited to users who want greater control over their workspace and app arrangement.
4. Processor
iPhone Duo: Apple A20 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.
Difference: These are different flagship processors designed for demanding tasks, including gaming, video editing and AI processing.
You cannot reliably declare one the winner from the specifications alone. Independent performance benchmarks and sustained editing tests would provide a fairer comparison.
5. Battery and video playback
iPhone Duo: Apple advertises up to 31 hours of video playback using the inner display, or up to 44 hours using the outer display.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8: A 4,800mAh battery, with Samsung advertising up to 26 hours of continuous video playback.
