*Step 1: Get a Valid Phone Number*
• Use a personal and active mobile number.
• The phone number must not have been used before for JAMB registration.
• Ensure the SIM is properly registered (NIN-linked line).

*Step 2: Open Your Phone SMS App*
• Go to the Messages (SMS) app on your phone.
• Do not use WhatsApp or any internet-based messaging app.

*Step 3: Type the Correct Message*
• Type the word NIN, leave a space, then type your 11-digit National Identification Number.

*EXAMPLE: NIN 12345678901*

*Step 4: Send the Message to 55019 or 66019*
• Send the SMS to 55019 or 66019.
• Ensure you have at least ₦50 airtime on the line.

*Step 5: Wait for the Response*
• Within a few minutes, you will receive an SMS from JAMB.
• The message will contain your 10-digit Profile Code.

*Step 6: Keep Your Profile Code Safe*
• Write it down and save it.
You will need the Profile Code to:
1. Buy your JAMB e-PIN
2. Register for UTME or Direct Entry
3. Access JAMB services later

NOTE: Candidates who sat for the UTME in previous years (2023 or 2024) do not need to generate a new profile code for the 2026 UTME. Such candidates should continue using their existing profile code for the 2026 registration process.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged candidates planning to register for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to begin creating their profiles without delay.

In its weekly bulletin published on Monday, the Board reminded prospective candidates to verify that their National Identification Number (NIN) details were accurate before initiating profile creation, warning that inaccuracies could result in avoidable complications during registration and the examination process.

JAMB stressed the importance of timely profile creation, noting that candidates who have not yet done so should act promptly to avoid last-minute difficulties.

“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wishes to inform all candidates desirous of registering for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry(DE) that they should proceed to create their JAMB profiles if they have not already done so.

Candidates must ensure that their NIN details are correctly captured before initiating profile creation,” the board stated.

The board encouraged candidates to prepare in advance by ensuring that all personal data is accurate and consistent across official records.
