If you must relocate from your city to ours, make sure you shine your eyes and ask questions ooooo
Lagos is not a city you accept a job offer for based on assumptions. You will suffer ooo.

You accepted a new offer in in Lekki phase 1, you have never lived in Lagos before, you told your intending employer that you will sort it out, when looking for accommodation, agent told you Meiran is close to your office…… hope you know how to wake up 4:00am.

You did not ask questions, you went to rent house in Akute and your office is in Lekki, all I can say to you is sorry.

Or company promised you relocation packages and you did not clearly define terms and duration, if it is Lagos you are relocating to ask again oooo.

If you know you want to relocate from your present location in the name of a job, outline everything and anything clearly. Do not assume any clause. Whatever is not stated or agreed upon does not get done.

If you want relocation allowance please state it
If you want to move your family all at once, let your employer know
If the organization is to book a flight for you please state it, do not assume they will pay you back.

Assumption has caused a lot of prospective relocating candidates a huge loss.

If you are relocating from a less industrial state to Lagos, ask of questions oooo and negotiate your salary well. Lagos is body’s mate, ask where your office is and the distance between your home and office.

One of the funniest things I have experienced with relocating candidates is the super audacity when you tell them don’t walk a night, mind where you go to, hold your phone well ooo, whe you seat by the window is a bus, hold your bag and valuables well. They will tell you nothing de happen until omo boyz snatched their phone and bag 3 times before they learn.

There are some areas you will live in, you must settle boys oooo.

Even us in Lagos are not finding awòn boys funny as they have robbed us a few times not to talk if you Jonny just come.

Lagos is no body’s friend, ask questions before you come. Know your bus stop ooo, we have a lot of notorious bus stops ……… ask questions again and again, no go form cos Lagos go humble you.

My concerns about this invite:

1. Lack of Organization Name
I believe a professional invite should clearly state the name of the company (or at least the agency recruiting on behalf of the company). Without it, it feels vague and unprofessional. A proper invite should include: The recruiting agency’s name and/orThe client (company) they are hiring for

2. Job Title Confirmation
I believe it's important to include the position you have invited a candidate to be interviewed for. A professional invite should reconfirm the position you applied for so you can verify that you actually submitted an application.

Sometimes people apply for different roles with a well tailored CV so they are expecting email from different angles. Reconfirming will go a long way

3. Printing the Email
Asking candidates to print an email in 2025 feels outdated and unnecessary. Most interviews rely on digital records, and HR should have your details already. If identification is needed, your CV and a valid ID should do the job

4. Time Frame
Asking a candidate to come for an interview in less than 24hours is absolutely ridiculous and lack of respect for such candidate. Not even a virtual interview, onsite for that matter. This is a red flag

A lady reached out to me yesterday to ask if I recommended her for a job because she got an invite. I told her I would have informed you if I did so I asked her to do her research properly before accepting.

Please don't just jump on the interview all in the name of searching for jobs.

Do your research and be sure you actually applied for the job.

A lot is going on these days. Don't go and fall victim oooo.
