1. Our shops are open today to assist customers.

2. Self-service options are also up and running. Please inform family & friends that they can check their biometric verification status by dialing *996*4 # and selecting Option 1.

3. For Customers who are not biometric verified, but who registered or re-registered their numbers after February 2016, the self-service options work seamlessly. They can submit their NINs by dialing *996*1 # and choosing Option 2 to submit.

4. For Customers mentioned in #3, they can also do this through our NIN portal at nin.mtn.ng/nin. Our NIN web portal is designed for, and works for all non-corporate customers needing to link their NINs, regardless of when they registered on our network. If we are unable to automatically match their SIM-NIN images, the portal provides the option to capture their selfies and proceeds to match the selfie to their NIN!

5. So, spread the word!
(a) Check your NIN status: *996*4 # and select Option 1.
(b) Submit your NIN if registered or re-registered after February 2016: dial *996*1 # and select Option 2.
(c) All non-corporate Customers: nin.mtn.ng/nin.

NCC Approved Unified USSD Codes for all mobile networks in Nigeria

This means all mobile network services will be using the same customer care number, the same code for checking data balances, the same code for credit recharge, etc.

The old and new harmonised short codes will run concurrently up till May 17 2023, when all networks are expected to have fully migrated to full implementation of the new codes.
