Few months ago, they couldn't explain the difference between a firewall and antivirus software.

Now, they've walked Cohort Six through a full pe*******on testing report, vulnerabilities, exploits and fixes.

Cohort 6's Cyber Security track wrapped up with students who came in curious and left able to think like the hackers they're trained to stop.

That's the ACA difference: we don't teach you to memorize security concepts. We put you in the room where you break things, fix things and understand why it matters.

Last month, we concluded a cohort, we shared tech tips that landed in your bookmarks and your toolbars, we told stories that felt a little too familiar, we answered questions that were holding people back, we celebrated our students and brought exciting offers your way.

We introduced you to the Kiddies Programme!

Today we celebrate the man behind everything you see here.

Happy Birthday to our Director, Mr Joe Attueyi.

ACA didn't build itself. It was built by a vision and the unrelenting belief that young Nigerians deserve access to world-class tech education. That talent on this continent shouldn't go to waste because of barriers that shouldn't exist in the first place.

That belief belongs to him and the faculty members.

Every student who has walked through our doors, every cohort that has graduated, every career that has been launched from this campus traces back to a decision our director made.

We are grateful. We are proud and we are committed to making every cohort a worthy continuation of that vision.

We could talk about ACA all day but nothing we say will ever hit the way our students do.

Somewhere in Nigeria right now, a 13 year-old just submitted his last Junior WAEC paper few weeks ago.

He walked out of that exam hall feeling lighter than he has in months. No more early mornings, cramming, sitting in front of past questions until his eyes hurt.

“I want to apply but I have no portfolio"

Here's the truth: nobody had a portfolio before they built one.

The question isn't whether you have experience. The question is whether you're willing to create evidence and we make this certain for our students.

Here's how to build a portfolio from absolute zero:

Step 1 — Do practice projects.
You don't need a client to build something real. Redesign an existing website. Analyse a public dataset. Create a mock social media campaign for a brand you love. Build it like it's real, because it is.

Step 2 — Document your process.
The how is as impressive as the what. Write about the problems you faced, the decisions you made and what you learnt. Let me share a secret, In 2026 employers and clients buy into thinking, not just output.

Step 3 — Put it online.
GitHub for developers. Behance for designers. A simple Google Site or Notion page or Google Drive for everyone else. Visible beats perfect.

Step 4 — Keep adding to it.
One project is a start. Three is a portfolio. Five is credibility. The people who get hired are the ones who kept going.

At ACA, every student builds at least a real portfolio project during the cohort,it has been on going across all tracks as we conclude the cohort. Our aim is by the time you graduate, you already have something to show.
