The University of Uyo has officially announced that the 2026/2027 Post-UTME registration portal will close at 12:00 midnight on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

However, the University Management has extended the Direct Entry (DE) registration by one week, with the new deadline now 12:00 midnight on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

⚠️ Important Notice:

No further extension will be granted after the stated deadlines.
All prospective candidates are advised to complete their registration before the portal closes.

Candidates who applied with Awaiting Result should ensure they upload their O'Level results on both the JAMB Portal and the University of Uyo Admissions Portal.

Applicants are also advised to rely only on official University communication channels and beware of fraudsters.

Don't wait until the last minute. Complete your registration before the deadline.

WAEC Postpones Release of 2026 WASSCE

Pupils and parents expecting the 2026 WASSCE results will have to wait a little longer as the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has postponed the release.
The results, initially expected on Monday, August 3, 2026, were not released as scheduled. In a statement, WAEC said the press briefing to announce the results had been rescheduled, adding that a new date and time would be communicated soon.
The Council apologized for the inconvenience but did not disclose the reason for the postponement.

How to Apply for FG’s Agricultural Quarantine Service Recruitment

The Federal Government has commenced recruitment into the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres.

The recruitment exercise, which opened on July 28, 2026, will close on August 10, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will proceed to computer-based tests and interviews later in August.

According to the Federal Character Commission in a post on X, applications are free and must be completed online through the official recruitment portal.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should:

Visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.naqs.gov.ng.

Create an account or log in to the portal.

Select their preferred cadre and position.

Complete the online application form with accurate personal and educational information.

Upload all required credentials and supporting documents.

Review the application carefully before submitting it online.

The agency warned that applications submitted after the deadline or those that do not comply with the stipulated procedure will not be considered.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants for the Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Care position must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Candidates applying for the Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine position must possess either a degree in Law or a master’s degree in a relevant discipline, along with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Applicants for the Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II position must hold at least a first degree from a recognised institution and an NYSC discharge certificate.

Applicants for the Inspectorate Cadre must possess an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).

Candidates applying for the Assistant Cadre must possess SSCE, NECO, or GCE Ordinary Level with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

General Requirements

Applicants must:

Be Nigerian by birth.

Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).

Be medically fit and present a certificate of fitness from a government hospital.

Pass a drug test.

Be of good character with no criminal convictions.

Not belong to any secret cult or society.

Be free from financial embarrassment.

Be computer literate.

Male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.65 metres and a chest measurement of at least 0.87 metres, while female applicants must be at least 1.55 metres tall.

The agency also advised that applicants with certain physical deformities or medical conditions—including severe speech impairment, hearing impairment, total blindness, obesity, and limb deformities—should not apply.

Pregnant women were also advised not to apply due to the physical demands of the recruitment exercise.

How to check your O-level result on JAMB CAPS.
STEP 1: Go to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) E-facility portal at
https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/Login

STEP 2: Login to your Jamb profile with your username (email address) and password.

STEP 3: After successfully logging in, scroll down then locate and click the
"CHECK ADMISSION STATUS" tab.

STEP 4: Select your Exam year and Enter your registration number in the required columns (most aspirants own is already there)

STEP 5: Click on "ACCESS MY CAPS'

STEP 6: Finally, click on "MY O-LEVEL" to access your O-LEVEL on your CAPS.
