You Claimed Your Google Business Profile… Now What?

Most business owners think claiming their profile is the hard part.

It’s not.

The real work starts after that.

Because having a Google Business Profile without optimizing it is like opening a shop and forgetting to put up the sign.

People may pass by… but they won’t know you’re there.

To improve your local visibility on Google, you need to focus on the basics:

  • Verify your profile
  • Fix your NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number)
  • Choose the right business category
  • Update your business hours
  • Add photos and videos
  • Keep your profile active with posts and updates

These small details help Google trust your business and show it to the right local customers.

And most businesses skip them.

That’s why some rank… and others stay invisible.

This carousel breaks down what to do next after claiming your profile.

What’s the one thing you haven’t fixed on your Google Business Profile yet, verification, photos, categories, or consistency?

Most local businesses don’t have a traffic problem.
They have a visibility problem.

If someone searches for your service in your area and your business doesn’t show up on Google, you’re handing customers to competitors for free.

That’s where Google Business Profile + Local SEO come in.

Think of your Google Business Profile as your digital storefront.

It’s often the first thing people see before visiting your website, calling your number, or walking into your business.

Here’s why it matters:

  • It helps you appear in local searches like “plumber near me”
  • It drives calls, visits, and real leads
  • It helps you compete locally—even against bigger brands

First step?
Claim your business profile.

Search your business name on Google or Google Maps.

If it exists, claim it.
If it doesn’t, create it.

Simple move. Big impact.

This week, don’t just work in your business.
Work on making your business easier to find.

Quick question: Have you claimed and optimized your Google Business Profile yet?

Most people think SEO starts with rankings.

It doesn’t.

Before your website can rank on , it has to go through three critical stages:

Crawling → Google discovers your pages
Indexing → Google understands and stores them
Ranking → Google decides where you appear

Here’s where many websites get it wrong:

They focus on keywords and backlinks while ignoring the foundation.

But if Google can’t crawl your website, it can’t index it.
And if it can’t index it, it won’t rank.

That’s why technical SEO matters.

Things like site structure, internal linking, and accessibility directly affect whether your content can even enter the game.

SEO isn’t about chasing algorithms.

It’s about making your content easy to find, easy to understand, and worth ranking.

The basics are not optional. They’re the foundation.

What part of SEO do you think people overlook the most?

Happy New Week.

A new week is another chance to grow, improve and move closer to the person you want to become.

Real change is built in the small things, the habits you keep, the choices you make and the discipline to stay consistent even when it’s not convenient.

This week, don’t just think about your goals. Think about your growth.
Ask yourself: Who am I becoming through what I do every day?

Stay focused. Stay disciplined. Keep showing up.

Wishing you a productive and fulfilling week ahead.

Here are a few things experienced business owners usually think through first:

  • Ownership vs subscription
Some platforms give you full control of your website. Others keep your site within their system and charge ongoing monthly fees. It’s important to think about what makes sense for you long term.

  • Booking and payment requirements
If your website needs bookings or online payments, the platform should support availability calendars, flexible pricing rules and secure payment processing from the start.

  • Integrations with other tools
Will your site connect with Airbnb, booking platforms, calendars, CRMs or email automation tools? Not every platform handles integrations the same way, so this matters more than many people expect.

  • SEO capability
A great-looking website isn’t enough on its own. The platform should allow proper SEO structure so your site can actually be found online.

  • Room to grow
Your website should support where your business is going, not just where it is today. What starts as a simple setup can quickly expand into multiple services, listings or locations.

  • Maintenance expectations
Some platforms are easier to manage but less flexible. Others offer more control and scalability but require occasional updates and monitoring.

There isn’t one platform that fits everyone. The right choice depends on your goals, your workflow and how you plan to grow your business.

A client came to me on Fiverr wanting a vacation rental website built on Lodgify.

At first, that made sense. Lodgify is a solid platform for many rental businesses.

But as we discussed what he actually wanted the website to handle, things started to change.

He needed stronger control over responsiveness, more flexibility in page structure, and room to support additional features as the business grows.

So we considered a hybrid setup:
WordPress + Lodgify integration.

Then the requirements changed again.

After reviewing his long-term goals, it became clear the smarter move was building a fully developed website instead, something scalable and flexible enough to grow with the business.

This happens more often than people think.

The “right platform” usually becomes clear only after you understand where the business is going, not just where it is today.

Looking to build a website for your business comment "WEBSITE" and we will discuss your business goals and objectives and recommend a website solution that works.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

If you’re still relying on SEO alone to get bookings for your vacation rental website, you’re already behind where guest search behavior is heading.

Today’s travelers don’t just scroll search results anymore. They ask questions inside AI tools, voice assistants, and recommendation engines and they expect instant answers.

That’s where AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) come in.

AEO helps your property show up as the direct answer when someone asks:

“𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴?”
“𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗯𝗻𝗯 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿?”

GEO helps your listings and website content appear inside longer AI-generated recommendations when travelers ask:

“𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀?”
“𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗯𝗻𝗯?”

Together, they do something traditional SEO alone can’t:
They position your property exactly where booking decisions now start.

Here’s what smart hosts and property managers are doing already:
• Structuring FAQ sections around real guest questions
• Creating local area guides that AI tools can reference
• Updating listing content to match natural traveler language
• Using structured formatting that AI engines can easily interpret

Visibility is changing. The hosts who adapt early will capture more direct bookings without depending entirely on OTAs.

If you manage a vacation rental brand or portfolio, this is the shift worth paying attention to in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Comment 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 if you want your vacation rental to show up inside AI recommendations.

Happy New Week.

You’re only truly working when you’re starting and completing the tasks that actually matter.

People who get ahead focus their time on high-value work. Others stay busy with things that make little difference.

This week, be intentional about what you give your time and energy to. Focus on what moves you forward.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients happy with the results.

I recently redesigned the website for Triangle Body Therapy, with a focus on improving the homepage structure, making navigation easier, and presenting their expertise more clearly to visitors.

After the redesign, the client shared this feedback:

“I hired Temidayo to redesign our website and he was wonderful to work with. He immediately found opportunities to make the homepage easier to navigate and highlighted our expertise in a more visible, reassuring way for our clients. In fact, I'm hiring Temidayo again for more help! Highly recommend.”

If your website feels difficult to navigate or doesn’t clearly communicate what you do, I can help improve it.

Send me a message or leave a comment and I’ll take a look at your site.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲

When people visit your website, the first thing they often look for is proof that your business delivers. Your Google reviews are that proof and putting them front and center can make a huge difference.

Here’s why:
  • Builds trust instantly – real feedback from real customers speaks louder than any claim.

  • Boosts conversions – social proof helps people feel confident to take action.

  • Strengthens your brand – showing happy clients upfront makes your business look reliable and professional.

  • Keeps visitors engaged – people stay longer when they can read honest reviews.

  • Supports local SEO – Google loves it when reviews are visible on your site.

  • Shows transparency – letting your customers’ voices shine shows you have nothing to hide.

  • Speeds up decisions – new visitors make choices faster when they see proof of your work.

Most people check reviews before choosing a business. By putting them on your homepage, you remove doubt and make a great first impression.

Comment “𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀” if you’d like help adding your Google reviews to your homepage.
