SUPREME COURT RULING: VICTORY FOR DEMOCRACY
The victory of the Cross River Governor at the Supreme Court has been described as a victory for democracy, equity, fair play and Justice. The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Lime Stones Project, Chief Nelson Obono Ofem made the assertion at the Eagle square Abuja, shortly after the Supreme Court delivered the judgment. Ofem noted that the Supreme Court ruling on the matter between Joe Agi (SAN) and Prof. Ben Ayade would enable the Governor to remain focused in working towards providing democracy dividends to the people of the State. He commended the judiciary for standing on the truth and for delivering what he termed "the best judgement", describing it as the truly last hope of the common man after God. The SSA also thanked Cross Riverins, the People Democratic Party (PDP) faithfuls, political groups among other for turning out enmass from far and near to display their solidarity to the Governor. Ofem thanked members of the PDP Rebirth Group across the State and Abuja for their support of the Governor and described their action as a welcome development and an honour to a great leader who has contributed immensely toward the development of the State.
