On Saturday 20th September 2025, Ecovest Technologies joined the sensitization march and walk with GIFSEP in Maitama, Abuja, advocating for a bold shift in Nigeria’s priorities.

The campaign theme, “Fund the Future, Not the Crisis”, strongly echoes the mission — calling on government and stakeholders to invest in growth, sustainability systems, and long-term resilience rather than reacting only to crises.

Holding my placard that read “Support the Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment Bill”, I stood in solidarity for stronger frameworks that safeguard our environment, communities, and economy.

At Ecovest Tech, we are committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

💚 Celebrating Impact, Not Just Milestones 💚

For our one-year anniversary at Ecovest Technologies last month, we decided to do something meaningful. We held a Website Design Training for students at Sound Foundation School Axis in Karu LGA, Nasarawa State.

The passion in the room was incredible! Even though most didn’t have personal computers — and had to share borrowed ones — their curiosity and drive to learn was unstoppable.

This was more than just a training. It was about giving young people a glimpse of what’s possible with tech and helping them believe in a brighter future. 🌟

We’re proud to have started this journey, and even more excited for what lies ahead. 🚀

Nigeria Takes a Step Forward in Environmental Sustainability
At Ecovesttech, we're excited to see the Ministry of Environment's Department of Desertification, Land Degradation, and Drought Management take a significant step towards a more sustainable future for Nigeria by reviewing the National Policy on Drought, Desertification, and Land Degradation.

After more than a decade, the Ministry, through its departments and other stakeholders, has recognized the need for a better and more robust policy to address the increasingly complex challenges of desertification, land degradation, and drought. This move is a great step towards a better and more sustainable environment.

Why This Matters

Food Security: Desertification and land degradation threaten agricultural productivity, exacerbating food insecurity and poverty.

-Climate Change: Sustainable land management practices can help mitigate climate change impacts, such as droughts and floods.

-Biodiversity Conservation: Restoring degraded lands can help preserve Nigeria's rich biodiversity.

Key Highlights of the Review

Core Principles: The reviewed policy will consider precautionary measures, sustainable development, intergenerational equity, and gender inclusiveness.

Affected Regions*: Desertification is a pressing issue in Nigeria's dryland regions, including Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe, and Zamfara states and spreading unto the southern parts of Nigeria.

Collaborative Efforts: The review process involves stakeholders from government, development partners, and relevant agencies, ensuring a comprehensive approach.
