Cooperatives were banned in Nigeria until the year 1953 were a military decree granted Cooperatives the right to associate under the scope of agriculture.

The reason for such limitations on cooperatives is the autonomous nature of this type of association which gives it powers that seem almost equal to that given to "states".

Various tribes and religions in Nigeria have always and will continue to seek self-determination and this created the need for formulation of states within the federation in order to ease governance.

Over the years, "Nigeria" has given birth to a new tribe of individuals who are now seeking self determination both consciously and unconsciously;

These individuals are the Generation Y (Millennials) entrepreneurs and intra-preneurs of Nigeria. These individuals are yearning for a practical change in the way our lives are governed.

The only form of self-determination the Millennials can achieve is a legal autonomous association that functions as a self sustainable, localised or virtual eco-system with a zero-waste mindset.

This eco-system cannot exist without a financial system powered with the most advanced financial technology services. This is where Co-op™ comes in.

Co-op as a cooperative is solving this problem through serving as an aggregating (umbrella) body for members;

Co-op™ is a registered fintech powered, open membership cooperative. The aim is to become the largest youth sponsored cooperative in Africa;

Financial Technology (Fintech); with a mobile/web app for e-payment, airtime/data vending and Groupvest™(a feature that allows members jointly purchase assets);

Through providing fintech services, Co-op is able to generate revenue needed to meet all it's short term and long term goals which include:
