KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE

We have different types of skin.
After reading this post, you will be able to know your skin type.

OILY SKIN- This is the type of skin that is characterized by the excessive production of SEBUM (the natural oil your skin produces. It is often accompanied by enlarged pores, frequent breakouts and acne due to clogged pores.

What is clogged pores? It's when the tiny openings in your skin that release oil and sweat become blocked by a mixture of excess oil, dead skin cells and dirt or makeup.

DRY SKIN- This is the type of skin that lacks sufficient moisture in the skin's outer layer. It is characterized by rough, flaky, itchy or tight with almost invisible pores.

Deep hydration, gentle cleansers, hydrating toners and rich moisturizers are effective for this type of skin.

COMBINATION SKIN- This is characterized by having both oily and dry skin or normal areas on the face. The T-zone which is (forehead, nose, chin) is oily while the cheeks are dry or balanced.

NORMAL SKIN- This is a well-balanced type of skin. It's neither too oily nor too dry. It is characterized by a smooth texture, small pores, good circulation and an even radiant tone. It requires consistent care to maintain its natural barrier. It has good oil-water balance. Normal skin can still fluctuate based on weather, diet and age.

SENSITIVE SKIN- This is highly reactive type of skin. Characterized by burning, stinging, itching or redness triggered by products. It needs to be treated gently with non-irritating and calm products. Avoid excessive rubbing of the face, heat, exfoliation of the face or extraction which can cause damage.

Which of these is your skin type?

I didn't get into skincare just to glow. I got into it to grow, learn and build something real.

Right now, I'm still a trainee still figuring things out, still taking it one step at a time.

But one thing is clear to me.

I want to create a space where skincare feels simple, honest and safe especially for people who feel confused or overwhelmed by it all.

I've been that person, so this journey means more to me than just products or routines.
It's about helping people understand their skin properly and feel confident in it.

My goal is to build a brand that caters to all skin types, create a space where people can feel seen, confident and proud of their skin.

This is just the beginning for me, but I'm intentional, I'm learning and I know exactly where I'm going.

Please follow my journey and support 🙏.

Good evening fam
I have an online class tonight and honestly I love learning New things.

Every new lesson is another step toward growth, improvement and becoming better than yesterday.

Never get too comfortable that you stopped learning. The moment you stop learning, you stop growing.

No matter your age or level, always stay curious, ask questions, learn new skills and invest in yourself.

One piece of knowledge can completely change your life 💯

Have a good night rest 😘.

WORDS ASSOCIATED WITH SKINCARE

Let me break it down for you.
When I started my skincare journey as a trainee, I heard words like "exfoliation, hydration, extraction etc.

At first it felt confusing but now I understand that these words are the difference between guessing and actually caring for your skin.
I realized these words are the foundation of healthy skin.

*️⃣ CLEANSING - This is where skincare begins
Dirt, oil, sweat, all sit on your skin daily.
Cleansing removes them and prepares your
skin for every other product.

*️⃣ EXFOLIATION - This is the process of removing dead skin cells. It helps your skin look brighter, smoother and fresh. Too much of it, gets your skin damaged. Too little, your skin looks dull. Balance is key.

*️⃣ HYDRATION - This simply means giving your skin water. If your skin feels tight, dry or dull. It's crying for hydration. Water-based products will do the magic.

*️⃣ EXTRACTION - This is the safe removal of clogged pores. Not the aggressive squeezing you do at home 😅. If done properly, it helps reduce breakouts and congestion.

*️⃣ TONING - After cleansing, your skin needs balance. Toners help restore your skin PH and prepare it for better product absorption.

*️⃣ SERUM - This is where treatment happens. Serums are concentrated and target specific issues like acne, dark spots, dullness, fine lines etc.

*️⃣ SPF (SUNSCREEN) - This is a very important part of skincare. Skipping SPF can damage your skin because it protects your skin from sun damage which causes dark spots, premature aging and skin damage. If you're skipping SPF, you're undoing all your skincare efforts.

*️⃣ SKIN BARRIER - This means your skin natural protection. When damaged, you may experience breakouts, irritation, sensitivity etc. Healthy barrier = healthy skin.

*️⃣ HYPERPIGMENTATION - This means dark spot or uneven skin tone. It's very common and treatable with the right care.

*️⃣ SEBUM - This is the natural oil your skin produces.

*️⃣ COLLAGEN - Keeps your skin firm and youthful.

*️⃣ BRIGHTENING - Not bleaching. Brightening products simply improves your skin's natural glow and even tone.

*️⃣ PURGING - This happens when your skin breaks out after starting a new active product. It's temporary but often misunderstood.

*️⃣ ROUTINE - This means your daily skincare steps. Step by step on how you apply your skincare products.

When you know better, you treat your skin better.

You don't need a 10-step skincare routine to start. I feel like a lot of us are just overwhelmed before we can even begin.

Simple might actually be better.

DEALING WITH CLIENTS-THAT'S WHERE THE REAL TRAINING BEGINS.

You think being a skincare trainee is just about learning treatments?

No....... it's about learning people.

Because everyday at the spa, I don't just meet clients. I meet different attitudes, different moods, different energies.

THERE'S THE SWEET ONES
The ones who smile, trust me and make my work feel easy. They even dash me money for a job well done 😄.
With them, my confidence grows without me even realizing it.

THEN THERE'S THE IMPATIENT ONES
Checking the time, asking questions every five seconds, making me feel like I'm too slow with them. I learn speed with this kind of people but more importantly, composure.

THE SILENT OBSERVERS
They say nothing, just watching my every move. No feedback, no reaction, no question, nothing. And I'm left wondering "am I really doing this right?".
With them, I learn to trust myself.

AND THEN THE DIFFICULT ONES
These ones complains every two seconds, correct every move and even make me feel like I'm not good enough yet. They don't want no trainee hands on their precious body. Those ones test my patience in ways no training manual ever could. 🥹

But here's the truth........

Every single client is a lesson in disguise.
They teach me how to stay calm under pressure.
How to communicate better
How to be confident even when I'm still learning.
How to not take everything personally and still give my best.

Because being a trainee isn't just about perfecting my hands, it's about strengthening my mind and attitude.

So yes, I deal with different people everyday.
Different tones, different expectations, different personalities.

But with each one, I grow stronger, smarter and better.

This journey?

It's not just building a skincare professional or perfecting my hands, it's building patience, resilience and strength I can't fake.

And honestly- that's the real growth.
Different clients, different attitudes.

Do you also face the same challenge in your own field of work? Let's discuss.

NOT LAZY, JUST CARRYING WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE.

You see me and think I'm not serious.
You think I'm not committed
But you don't see what I'm carrying.

The pressure
The responsibilities
The battles
The constant need to keep pushing even when I'm tired.

You know, It's easy to judge what you don't understand
It's easy to call it laziness
But you have no idea what it takes just to keep going.

Sometimes it's not laziness, it's responsibilities
Sometimes it's trying to hold your life together while still chasing something bigger.
Not everything is visible, not every effort is loud. You don't always see the full picture.

Some days I'm exhausted
Some days I want to quit
But I don't
Because this is bigger than your opinion.

I'm learning, I'm growing, I'm trying even on the days it doesn't look it and that should count for something.

I'll get there in my own time, in my own way.
So before you judge someone, remember
You might not be seeing the weight they're carrying.

Have you ever been misunderstood like this?
