My hero is the 26-year-old fearless youth and Human Rights Activist Iipinge Shaanika Nashilongo, Shaanika is the founder of Monica Gender Violence Solution (MGVS). The organisation was found to fight against Human Rights violation and Social Justice. The main aims and objectives of his organization are: hosting workshops and seminars for men and women to find solutions to GBV. It also advises and counsels those needing support following incidences of GBV as a form of social support, following incidents of GBV, as well as helping resolve conflicts within communities. MGVS also helps with the implementation of projects and activities aimed at educating communities on relevant social issues, such as human rights, as well as teaching them to refrain from criminal and violent activities, the organisation is also providing 24-hour counselling and assistance to the victims of gender-based violence and human rights violation. Shaanika came from a disadvantaged background, he lost his mother while he was just 4 years old as a result of GBV, he had to grow up through suffering and pain, sleeping in the streets of Windhoek had inspired Shaanika to start helping others who are going through suffering and injustices. I know Shaanika is a hero becsuse he spent most of his time 24h00 a day helping victims of Gender Based Violence and those who need counseling.
