In today’s era of Generative AI, many rely on tools like ChatGPT, but few truly understand how to make them accurate, reliable, and context-aware.

That’s where Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) comes in.

We’re looking for passionate and committed individuals to join the Event, Marketing, and Finance units of AIROST. This is your chance to experience what it is like to work in an engineering focused organization, manage events and projects, all while contributing to our mission to uplift talents around us.

The selection will be task-based and interview-based, focusing on real, applied work.

🚀 UTM Dominance: Our Champions Conquer National Robot Challenge for the 5th Year!

The tradition continues! We are immensely proud to announce that the UTM AIROST Teams have once again secured the First and Second Place at the national-level NI Autonomous Robot Challenge 2025 in Penang.

This victory is monumental: not only is this our fifth year clinching the championship, but it also saw our two UTM teams face off in the finals for the third time, proving our engineering excellence is unmatched.

Brilliant minds from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Computing and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering brought this prestige back to UTM, defeating 14 top teams from across the nation.

Champion (UTM AIROST Team 1): The team comprising Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) students
Loh Jia Yao, Yeoh Jett, Ivy Ling Hock Hong, Liew Jin Yi, Moh Nian Chun and Faculty of Computing (FC) student Angela Ngu Xin Yi, was supervised by Dr. Mohd Saiful Azimi. This team secured a record-breaking score of 1073 and also took home the Special Award of Creativity and Innovation for showcasing the competition's only fully functional autonomous system.

1st Runner-Up (UTM AIROST Team 2): This junior team comprising
Alfred Chin Zhang Hoong (FC), Kaylyn Ng Jin Qing (FC), Tey Zhong Hern (FKE) and Ng Yu Qin (FKM)
supervised by AP Dr. Eileen Su, demonstrated relentless skill, cruising through the competition to secure the coveted second spot.

This triumph solidifies UTM’s standing as a national powerhouse in Robotics and AI, directly enhancing our reputation and the value of our students' degrees. The dedication, sleepless nights, and tireless effort of these student teams for close to a year of preparation, along with their supervisors, seniors, sponsors, and mentors, have made this historic win possible.
