Sophic Automation Empowering Next-Gen Innovators at KL20@Penang

Sophic Automation was proud to participate in the KL20@Penang – The Semiconductor Chapter under the Ministry of Economy ,actively contributing to Track 04: Future Talent Experience through the Bean Bag Chat & Innovation Sprint sessions.

We were honoured to have our Chief Culture Officer, Ms. Janniece Loh, serve as an Innovation Sprint Judge, alongside our Software Innovation Assistant Manager, Ms. Lee Chee Wan, who guided university students as an Industry Mentor.

During the fast-paced Innovation Sprint, student teams worked collaboratively to solve real-world industry challenges. Guided by mentors like Ms. Lee, students developed creative, technical solutions within 60 minutes before pitching directly to our panel of judges. The session showcased exceptional problem-solving, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, culminating in the announcement of the Grand Prize winners and special recognition awards.

Sophic Automation is proud and play a role to support the Penang State Government’s ongoing efforts to nurture and retain top-tier talent within the state. Representing Sophic Automation, our Chief Culture Officer (CCO), Ms. Janniece Loh, recently served as an industry co-interviewer on the Selection Committee for the Penang Future Foundation (PFF) 2026 Scholarship, which held on the 21st & 22nd September 2026.

The interview sessions provided a platform for outstanding candidates to showcase their academic excellence, community dedication, and vision for Penang’s future.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the PFF Secretariat and the Penang State Government for this collaboration, and we remain dedicated to helping shape and empower the next generation of leaders in Penang.

On 21 & 22 August, our ESS-PG team stepped away from the usual work routine for two days of fun, challenges, and team bonding! 💪✨

From the adrenaline rush at Penang TCL ATV Extreme 🏍️ to the excitement of Paintball 🎯, every activity brought out teamwork, communication, strategy, and plenty of laughter!

After an action-packed day, the team also had time to relax and recharge at Penang Flamingo Hotel 🌴🏨.

Today, we’re putting knowledge into action! 💡🤖

Our 7 OJT engineers are taking on the SophicSafe AI Security IP final demo and assessment, showcasing their hands-on capabilities in AI/ML, RTL/FPGA implementation, and real-time security monitoring.

From developing and training an MLP model to synthesizing it into RTL and integrating it into the SophicSafe AI security IP, the engineers will demonstrate how AI can be applied to detect and classify normal vs. abnormal traffic in real time.

🔍 The assessment focuses on:
• Practical OJT experience & individual contributions
• Technical understanding
• Working paper & problem-solving
• FPGA / SophicSafe AI implementation
• Live hands-on demonstration
