🏓 Tamura Malaysia 1H2026 Suktem Pickleball Event 🏓
On 12 April 2026, Tamura Malaysia proudly hosted its 1H2026 Suktem event, marking the company’s first-ever pickleball event. Held at PickleX, Shah Alam, our event organiser and venue partner, the well‑equipped courts provided an ideal setting for a fun and engaging day. The event aimed to bring colleagues together through sports while promoting teamwork, inclusiveness, and a healthy lifestyle 🌱.
From early morning, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, especially as many employees were trying pickleball for the first time 🎉. Before play began, a PickleX trainer briefed participants on basic rules, safety guidelines, and gameplay to ensure everyone could join confidently.
A total of six PickleX courts were booked, with four courts for tournament matches and two courts for training and warm‑up sessions. Employees were encouraged to practise and warm up while waiting, creating an energetic and supportive environment.
The event brought together 40 participants, divided into five groups of eight members with varying skill levels. The tournament featured men’s doubles and mixed doubles categories. Before the first round, the judge re‑explained the rules and allowed a short warm‑up. Each match lasted 15–20 minutes, with the first team to reach 15 points declared the winner ⏱.
Originating in the United States in the 1960s, pickleball blends elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, making it easy to learn and beginner‑friendly. Throughout the matches, colleagues encouraged one another, fostering a friendly and positive atmosphere 🤝.
Despite sore arms and tired legs, smiles never faded 😊. Group Kasturi and Group Lekir impressed with strong teamwork and calm communication and were crowned joint champions 🏆. The event concluded with everyone leaving the PickleX courts tired but happy, with fond memories and stronger connections beyond the game.
