Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – December 2025 — EDM emerged as one of the biggest winners at the KL Lawn Bowls Open Fours Championship 2025, delivering an outstanding performance by securing major titles across multiple competition categories at the Bukit Kiara Lawn Bowls Arena.

The tournament, held from 18–21 December 2025, brought together top teams from across Malaysia, including state squads, development teams, and elite club players. EDM’s strong presence was felt throughout the championship, culminating in victories that showcased both skill and consistency.

🏆 EDM A Crowned Open Fours Cup Champion

In the premier Open Fours Cup Section, EDM A captured the championship title and RM10,000 prize after an impressive run against strong competition from Selangor, SUKMA squads, and other elite teams. The winning lineup featured Mohammad Ali Imran Ahmad Ridzuan, Muhammad Hafiz Zahari, Mohammad Idham Amin Ramlan, and Amirul Danial Abdul Rahim.

This victory highlighted EDM’s ability to compete at the highest level, reinforcing its reputation as a rising powerhouse in Malaysian lawn bowls.

🥇 EDM B Secures Plate Section Championship

Adding to the celebration, EDM B claimed 1st place in the Open Fours Plate Section, further demonstrating the depth of talent within the EDM squad. The team secured the title after progressing through a competitive knockout bracket and finishing ahead of Pelapis Terengganu and other strong contenders.

With championships in both the Cup and Plate divisions, EDM stood out as one of the most successful teams of the tournament.

🚢 Project Completion Announcement – iNAV Pipeline Monitoring System Deployment

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the New AIS Server and iNav Workstation installation for Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company (CPOC) at the MDLQ Control Room.

Delivered by the EDM Global Tech engineering team, this project enhances offshore situational awareness through improved vessel monitoring, optimized network integration, and upgraded navigation infrastructure. The deployment included system installation, LAN network enhancement, configuration migration, System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and operational training ensuring seamless transition into live operations.

EDM Global Tech Completes AIS Installation for Cold Lay-Up Vessel in Sungai Johor

Pasir Gudang, Johor | January 2026

EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of an Automatic Identification System (AIS) onboard the cold lay-up cargo vessel TORMAN II, located in Sungai Johor near Pasir Gudang. The project was undertaken to enhance vessel visibility, monitoring, and navigational safety while the vessel remains in a non-operational lay-up condition.

The installation included a complete AIS solution comprising a Camino 108 Class B AIS Transponder, dedicated GPS antenna, VHF antenna, and DC-DC power converter integrated with the vessel's existing electrical system. The AIS was configured with the vessel's identity information, including MMSI number 538008702 and vessel particulars, enabling real-time tracking and identification by shore-based monitoring systems.

As part of the commissioning process, EDM Global Tech conducted comprehensive operational testing, including AIS programming verification, signal transmission checks, reception performance tests, and shore station confirmation.

Cold lay-up vessels are often anchored or moored for extended periods, making continuous identification and situational awareness essential for port authorities, vessel owners, and maritime regulators. The installation ensures that TORMAN II remains visible to nearby traffic and shore monitoring systems, contributing to safer navigation and improved maritime domain awareness within the Sungai Johor area.

The project was completed by EDM Global Tech's technical team in Pasir Gudang and demonstrates the company's expertise in maritime communication systems, vessel tracking technologies, and navigation safety solutions.

EDM Global Tech Successfully Completes AIS Maintenance at Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA) Block B-17

Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA) – EDM Global Tech Sdn Bhd is proud to announce the successful completion of scheduled maintenance works for the Automatic Identification System (AIS) serving the offshore facilities operated by Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC) at Block B-17 in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA).

This maintenance activity forms part of EDM Global Tech's ongoing commitment under its three-year maintenance agreement with CPOC, ensuring the continued reliability and availability of critical maritime navigation and vessel identification infrastructure supporting offshore oil and gas operations. The contract was awarded to EDM Global Tech in 2024, reinforcing the company's position as a trusted technology partner for mission-critical offshore communication and navigation systems.

The Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area is one of Southeast Asia's most strategically important offshore energy regions. Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC) serves as the Operator under the Joint Operating Agreement between PETRONAS Carigali JDA Ltd and PTTEP International Limited (PTTEPI) for the exploration and production of petroleum resources in Block B-17 & C-19 and Block B-17-01, located in the lower Gulf of Thailand near the South China Sea. Reliable AIS infrastructure is essential to support safe vessel movements, offshore logistics, emergency response, and compliance with international maritime safety requirements.

During the maintenance campaign, EDM Global Tech's engineers carried out comprehensive preventive maintenance, system health inspections, functional verification, communication testing, and performance optimisation of the AIS equipment. These activities ensure uninterrupted operation of the offshore AIS network, enabling continuous vessel identification and enhanced situational awareness for offshore platforms operating within the JDA.

The successful completion of this maintenance demonstrates EDM Global Tech's strong technical capabilities in delivering specialised offshore maritime technology services in demanding environments. With extensive experience in AIS, VDES, Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTMS), Aids to Navigation (AtoN), and integrated maritime surveillance solutions, the company continues to support the operational reliability of critical maritime infrastructure across Malaysia.
