Many SMEs have one very strong salesperson.
They know the customers.
They remember the pricing.
They understand the history.
They know which client is sensitive, which one pays slowly, and which one needs extra attention.
This person is valuable.
But if all knowledge sits only inside that personโs head or WhatsApp, the company becomes exposed.
When they resign, take long leave, or become overloaded, the business feels it immediately.
Customers get slower replies.
Deals lose context.
Management does not know the real pipeline.
New staff struggle to take over.
A strong sales team should not depend only on individual memory.
Customer history, deal stages, follow-ups, quotations, and key notes should be properly documented and visible.
Good systems do not remove the value of great salespeople.
They protect the business from losing everything when one person is unavailable.
