Starting June 2026, SOCSO’s LINDUNG 24 scheme (Skim Kemalangan Bencana Bukan Pekerjaan, SKBBP) takes effect. It expands protection for eligible employees beyond working hours and workplace incidents.

Although contributions are fully employee‑borne, there are significant changes HR and Payroll teams must apply to stay compliant:

Payroll Software
The new scheme introduces a revised contribution table that is not compatible with the existing SOCSO table. It adds a separate SKBBP employee contribution element, distinct from current SOCSO contributions. This requires system updates, there is no workaround. Payroll must be configured to calculate and display SKBBP deductions independently.

Employee Communication
All eligible employees must be informed that a new SKBBP deduction will appear as a separate line item on their payslips. This is not part of the existing SOCSO contribution, so clear communication is essential to avoid confusion and ensure employees understand the purpose of the new deduction.

Monthly submissions
SOCSO has introduced a new submission format that includes SKBBP contributions. While the current format will still be accepted until September 2026, after that deadline only the new format can be used. HR and payroll teams must transition fully, as the SKBBP element is mandatory and incompatible with existing submission structures.
