Can a condo balcony actually support a solar PV system?

To answer that, we have to look past the weather forecast and dive into the raw irradiance data.

What is Irradiance?
Solar irradiance is the power per unit area received from the Sun in the form of electromagnetic radiation. In simpler terms, it’s a measurement of the "intensity" of the sunlight hitting a surface at any given moment. It is measured in Watts per square meter (W/m2). Think of it as the "speedometer" of your solar potential at any given second.

Why this info is important:

1) System Sizing: Knowing the Peak Sun Hours (PSH) helps you determine exactly how many panels you need.

2) Performance Ratio (PR): Without knowing how much sun is hitting the panels, it's impossible to know if your system is actually underperforming or just having a cloudy day.

3) ROI Calculations: Without accurate irradiance data, your payback period is just a guess.

Most frequently asked question:

I have 3 air conditioning, 2 water heater, bla bla bla... how much my monthly tnb bill?

I don't know about heater..

But if 1 hp aircond run 24 hours, it consumed 23kwh per day.

If convert to RM, it is very much depend on your total monthly consumption...because residential tariff has multiple tiers, the more you use, the higher the tariff rate become.

We have a house undergoing renovation, where everything else switch off, except a 1 hp aircond which the worker forgot to switch off for 8 days...

They left site afternoon on 7th Aug..

The recorded usage is very consistent..😁😅
