Is That Website Really Safe?

As Sarawak becomes more digitally connected, knowing how to navigate the online space safely is just as important as having access to it. At SACOFA, we support the infrastructure behind that connectivity, but staying secure online also depends on informed user habits.

Before entering any personal or sensitive information, always check for “https://” and the padlock icon in the browser. HTTPS means the connection between your device and the website is encrypted, helping to protect your data from being intercepted. It is one of the first indicators that a site is legitimate, but it should still be paired with caution.

Taking a few seconds to verify a website can make a real difference. Combine this with safe browsing habits and only use trusted platforms to better protect your information. Stay alert. Stay secure.

SACOFA Riuh Rendah Challenge 2026 is a year long employee engagement programme designed to bring together employees from different divisions, regions and levels across the company through teamwork, friendly competition and interaction beyond the workplace.

Under the programme, employees are divided into five competing teams, battling for the SACOFA Riuh Rendah Trophy across 10 games held throughout the year. More than just competition, the initiative reflects SACOFA’s ongoing commitment towards promoting employee wellbeing, strengthening camaraderie, fostering a more connected and inclusive workplace culture.

Quarter 1 of the challenge has officially concluded with three exciting games successfully held namely PUBG E Games, Carrom and Darts, which saw enthusiastic participation from employees across the organisation.

The activities not only encouraged teamwork and healthy competition but also created opportunities for employees to build stronger relationships, interact across departments and reinforce the spirit of togetherness that continues to drive SACOFA forward as one team.

More exciting games and activities are set to continue in the upcoming quarters as the race for the SACOFA Riuh Rendah Trophy 2026 continues.

How Strong is Your Password?

As Sarawak advances its digital future, secure connectivity is just as important as speed. At SACOFA, we build and maintains the infrastructure that keeps people, businesses and communities connected, but a strong digital environment also depends on everyday user habits.

Weak or reused passwords remains one of the most common entry points for cyber threats. Switching to passphrases, which are longer combinations of random words, numbers and symbols, makes your accounts harder to breach while still being easy to remember.

Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. Simple steps like strengthening your passwords do not just protect you, they help safeguard the wider digital ecosystem we all rely on.

SACOFA recently hosted our internal Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, bringing together employees across divisions in a vibrant and festive gathering.

The event began with a doa session, followed by welcoming remarks from our Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff and the Head of Human Capital, who emphasised the importance of unity, appreciation and continued collaboration within the organisation.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Best Booth Award, which was awarded to the Chief Operations Office’s division for their “Kedai Pak Maon” concept, a creative and authentic kampung-inspired showcase that stood out for its presentation and attention to detail.

The programme included interactive games and concluded with a lively karaoke session. The celebration served as a meaningful platform to strengthen connections among employees while embracing the festive spirit of Hari Raya.
