Giving itself the difficult goal of breaking structural barriers around youth minimum wage in Malaysia, Biji-biji Initiative, one of the leading social enterprises in the country, believes that developing sales skills can be the hammer to break the cycle. In Citi Foundation, it has found a partner that believes in the same mission with the launch of a pilot programme last week where five youth from the B40, aged 18 to 24 started their paid, six-month sales careers. Two more cohorts will follow, with a total of 80 youth to be trained. Among the many partners, include, Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial, Telecontinent Sdn Bhd. and FINCO.
