True story: retail client, 8 outlets in Klang Valley. Their POS system went down on a Saturday afternoon — their busiest day of the week.

PDPA: apa yang business anda perlu tahu (dalam bahasa yang mudah difahami) 📋

If your business collects ANY customer information — name, phone number, email, IC number — you are subject to Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Here's what that means practically:

1. You must store customer data securely (encrypted, access-controlled)
2. You need a process for handling data breach incidents
3. Customers have the right to request their data be corrected or deleted
4. You need consent before using personal data for marketing

Penalties for non-compliance are increasing under upcoming amendments.
