Recently, I’ve been dedicating time to free writing again, exploring topics of creativity, how our industry is perceived, and alittle bit of entrepreneurship. I just find value in reflecting on and sharing these insights—hoping some might resonate with others…and a conversation with a client (who’s also a friend) sparked a thought: “Ideas are cheaper than the free pens at a bank.” and i strongly agree with this. Breaking goals into actionable steps into what can you do today, this week or this month. And tracking progress is non-negotiable. After all, what gets measured gets managed.

I’ve had so many ideas over the years—big, exciting ones—but the ones that actually went somewhere were the ones I put real work into. Getting caught up in the excitement of an idea, like it’s this golden ticket. But without action, it’s just potential. Untapped, unrealized, and honestly, kind of worthless. The hard part—the part that actually matters—is doing the work. Building the thing, solving the problem, putting it out there.

I’ve realized I need to focus less on dreaming up the “next big thing” and more on taking steps—even small ones—to make something happen.
