Why Intel Core i3 is faster than Intel Celeron?

The i3 has the same amount of cores as the Celeron- two- but has a higher clock speed: 1.8GHz against the 1.1GHz of the Celeron. Also, adding to that, is the fact that the cores of the i3 are hyperthreaded, which means they can handle twice the amount of threads than the Celeron can.
