A business customer starts with a few phone lines. Then comes the mobile app request, Microsoft Teams integration, and eventually, “Can we have a dashboard for our customer service team?”
Sound familiar? 🙂
For telecom operators, those requests create opportunities to offer a more complete communications service.
This is where I find PortSIP interesting. Calling, messaging, video meetings and apps across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and web browsers give operators a solid foundation for modern unified communications.
One detail I particularly like is the included PortSIP SBC for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. Operators can offer that integration without sourcing a separate SBC from another vendor. That means fewer components to bring together and one less supplier relationship to manage.
The integrated call centre capabilities are equally useful. For customers handling inbound calls, queues, live dashboards and reporting give supervisors visibility into waiting callers, agent activity and overall performance.
All of this sits within a multi tenant PBX, with centralised management and straightforward licensing based on extension count.
From an operator’s perspective, the appeal is being able to support customers as their needs develop. A small office may need business calling today and a customer service operation tomorrow.
Having those capabilities within the same platform makes that conversation much easier.
