Malaysian Fine Art Photographer | Multidisciplinary Visual Artist
Allan Wong is a Malaysian fine art photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist whose creative journey began in the 1990s with a 35mm film camera, later venturing into the realm of underwater photography in 1996. Trained in Germany with a professional background in engineering, Allan was deeply influenced by the Bauhaus art phi
losophy, which emphasizes the harmony between form and function. This foundation continues to shape his artistic vision, blending the precision of structure with emotional expression. Working today with the 100MP Hasselblad medium format system, Allan’s creations explore the dialogue between light, space, and form — merging the language of Modern Contemporary Art with the poetic sensibility of Nanyang-style Chinese ink art. His works often reflect a meditative balance between modern minimalism and Eastern aesthetics. As the long-serving President of the Shashin Photography Club in Kuala Lumpur, Allan has curated numerous impactful exhibitions and contributed to the growth of Malaysia’s photographic art scene. His underwater works were exhibited at the National Art Gallery of Malaysia in the acclaimed “Wave Lines – A Photography Journey” exhibition. Since 2016, Allan has founded and operated Allan Wong Fine Art, based in Klang, where he offers fine art printing services, commissioned art and painting projects for private and commercial collections, and advanced post-processing training. His art continues to explore the dialogue between imagination, craftsmanship, and the poetry of light.
