Apa itu Open Government Data (OGD)?

OGD adalah initiative kerajaan untuk membenarkan data dari kerajaan di kongsi oleh netizen dan boleh diakses menerusi online (Website). Data yang lama boleh digunakan kembali dan boleh difahami oleh computer (machine readable) dan tidak memerlukan apa2 lesen untuk mendapatkan atau memanipulasi data tersebut mengikut tujuan2 tertentu.

Konsep OGD dapat menggalakkan orang ramai membuat applikasi dengan lebih mudah tanpa membeli data daripada pihak lain.

Bagaimana Semantic boleh membantu menambahkan kecekapan OGD Portal?
Semantic digunakan semasa dataset daripada kementerian-kementerian, jabatan-jabatan, agensi-agensi digabungkan menjadi satu dataset yang besar. Semantic komponen seperti ontology akan digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah perkataaan2 yang mempunyai maksud yang sama. Cthnya, format date setiap agensi mungkin berbeza, maka ontology akan digunakan untuk menghasilkan satu format yang standard.
