[Active Directory Domain Services Recovery]
Received a distress call early Wednesday morning from a client in Seremban, reporting that all domain controllers were down, including the FSMO role holder due to ransomware attack on the virtualization host.
Luckily, there is one last standing DC in KL Office which is not affected by the ransomware attack. Immedaiat actions were taken:
✅ Removed all 4 DCs in Seremban for good (pronounced DEAD).
✅ Seized FSMO role to the DC in KL.
✅ Ran metadata cleanup o ADDS.
✅ Ran DNS cleanup.
✅ Built new DC on physical server.
Today, proceeded with rebuilding of additional DCs in Seremban and KL Office.
ADDS environment on the way to full recovery!
