MMU MOURNS THE PASSING OF OUR IBU UNIVERSITI

With profound sadness, Multimedia University joins the nation in mourning the passing of our beloved first Chancellor, Tun Dr. Hasmah Mohamad Ali, at the age of 100.

For MMU, she was more than our first Chancellor. She was our Ibu Universiti. Even after her tenure as Chancellor ended, her bond with MMU never did. She continued to grace our University with her presence over the years, always warmly welcomed as part of the MMU family.

Just last week, we met. Today, we mourn the loss of a truly cherished member of our University family. Thank you, Tun, for being part of MMU from the very beginning, and for continuing to be part of us through the years.
Our deepest condolences to the family of Tun Dr. Hasmah and to all Malaysians who mourn her passing. May Allah SWT grant her eternal peace and place her among the righteous.

Al-Fatihah.

MMU mourns with the nation.

💡 TIP OF THE WEEK: How to get your employer to pay for your IT certification.

Step 1 — Check if your company is registered with HRD Corp. (Most Malaysian companies with 10+ employees are.)
Step 2 — Identify an approved course. AUM Official's programmes — AI-900, CCNA, Security+, AWS — are all HRD Corp claimable.
Step 3 — Submit a Training Grant Application (TGA) before your course starts.
Step 4 — Attend, complete, and get certified. Your employer gets reimbursed.

It really is that simple. Thousands of professionals have done it — and so can you.

Don't leave your training levy on the table. Register before 31 October 2026.

🤖 AI Tip of the Week — Wednesday 26 August 2026

Here's something most professionals don't realise: you don't need to be a data scientist to work with AI.

Microsoft's AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals) and AI-102 (Azure AI Engineer Associate) certifications are built for exactly this moment — when every industry in Malaysia is adopting AI tools and needs people who understand them.

This week's tip: start with the RIGHT foundation.

✅ AI-900 teaches you what AI can do, how Azure AI services work, and how to apply Responsible AI principles — no coding required.
✅ AI-102 takes you deeper into designing and implementing real AI solutions using Azure Cognitive Services and Azure OpenAI Service.
✅ NVIDIA Generative AI and Prompt Engineering courses extend your edge into the fastest-growing AI skillset of 2026.

All of these are available at Aksara United Management (AUM Official) — HRD Corp claimable, so your employer can fund your training at zero out-of-pocket cost.

The AI-literate professional earns more, advances faster, and is harder to replace. The window to be AI-certified early is closing — but it hasn't closed yet.

Register before 31 October 2026. Limited seats.

📊 AI is not replacing jobs. It's replacing professionals who don't know how to use AI.

Here's what the data shows: roles that require AI skills now command a 30-40% salary premium in Malaysia's tech sector.

The good news? You don't need a computer science degree to get there. You need the right certification.

AUM Official's Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) programme teaches you:
• How AI and machine learning work in the real world
• Microsoft's AI tools and services — Copilot, Azure AI Studio, and more
• How to apply AI responsibly in your organisation

It's HRD Corp claimable, runs in Kuala Lumpur, and registration closes 31 October 2026.
