Ok, so recently I got out my old Technics SL-1200 MK2 I got when I first learned the turntables and mixing in Denton, TX! I got this one on the square for 200 bucks only the RCA connections were cut or no good. So I decided to learn to solder again with a Radio Shack 15W soldering iron, some good plyers, solder and a lot of burns! I got the connectors in Radio Shacks old bins of parts. They were decent, but my skills at soldering were subpar so it always cut out!

Now many years later I've come back to the guy and still using the original RCA I stripped it down and carefully soldered it like I do now! I was able to salvage the discontinued Radio Shack connectors too! 😃 I had no idea all the projects and training learning electronics it would lead to! (Including this page) To think I was inspired by a rave DJ movie at the time where he was drinkin and doin it himself between gigs! Also Radio Shack and their DIY ethos that they instilled in me young led to this!

Lastly, Im jus glad to get this old perfectly functioning MK2 purring again! Totally worth it! I hope to eventually replace the cable like I have done on others and also the Tone Arm lift and light I got the parts for! Other than that this Technics SL-1200 MK2 original from the 90s/early 2000's is Battle Ready! 👊🏽

Ok, I jumped on the band wagon this time for my bday! Jumped ahead a bit as I am still building a DIY Phase 45, but got to make sure I dont screw it up. This is a Custom MXR Phase 90 reissue! I tested it out and boy did it sound sweet! I jus gave her a schwang the other night and it sounded much more subtle and less Effected as the flangers and trem I got which is great! This one will match greatly w my boutique overdrives and custom Fuzz on my Tube Amp! Great purchase! 😃

Ok, jus finished this instrument cable upgrade and boy does it sound and work better! It was a looker, but it came with cheapo jacks that weren't performing well even brand new! It was cutting out and noisy. I installed, soldered and used heat shrink to make them really robust with Neutrik high quality jacks. That being said, I really love the fabric cover for the cable from GC! I had to use blk heat shrink as the red was too thick. This will work great on my electric guitar and lead synth! 😃

Well its good to know that I can still get single guitar strings out here! I had this pack of Ernie Ball Strings that I gave a couple of to friends while jamming. The pack needed a 10 and a 48 for the E strings because these are Medium Slinkies. I tried my old pawnshop, but the Guitar Center across town still sells singles! They only had a 49 and 11, but I like that as it adds a lil more tone, but its a little easier on the middle strings!

Its been a while here. I had to get through a Shutdown and then the holiday grind but Im back! Here are some of the parts I have been collecting for my electric guitar cable upgrade! I got the wire on sale cheap at GC a while back. It had really light cheapo connectors that would cut out brand new! Chop! I ordered my Neutrik connectors I like for line cables and some new red orange heat shrink from Parts Express! Stay posted as I think this cable is really going to be cool looking! Thanks to Guitar Center for the really cool wire sleeve!

Ok, I just completed the Boss CS-3 Opto/Hifi Mod! I just tested it out and I got to say it sounds great! Swapping out stock components as prescribed by Monte and also the diodes with some Ge- diodes really has opened this pedal up! I just need to complete the recap on my tube amp next so I can Really test it out! So stay postered for audio/ clips! I also plan on trying this out to help tame other gear! 😉 Little by little and this mod is done w out damaging anything! Now that takes experience!

Finally got to really test out my studio drumset w my cuz yesterday! It is def tuned up and ready to record! It doesn't look fancy, but I got every piece finely tuned w quality hardware and heads etc. It was good to get to hear it from across the room too! I hope to mic it up soon!
