Zoo Road has always been one of San Felipe’s wildest sections.
Back then, no speed limits, no restrictions, just raw risk.

Today, even with faster machines, it’s still dangerous, just a bit more controlled.

Have you ever been there?

Pulled these Robby Gordon clips from an old archive folder labeled Stoddard 250, MDR – 2000.

If you were there or remember that race, drop some context in the comments.

No introduction needed. The fact he won that Baja 500, like so many others, almost feels secondary.

Newer generations never got to see what was basically a real-life Baja superhero. Taking on the peninsula solo, carrying a couple spare goggles, with a chase crew somewhere behind him, attempting something that seemed physically impossible: running the entire race alone. No co-driver. No relief driver.

This was almost 30 years ago. No internet, no modern communications. Just paper maps, coordinates, radio calls and pure endurance.
