In a world of AI written captions, ChatGPT written emails, and website copy that all starts to sound the same, I wanted to write this one myself.
Just me sitting here writing what comes to mind.
I’ve spent the last three days trying to figure out how to caption this testimonial.
How should I angle it? What’s the best opening line? Should I finish with a CTA?
Then I realised this post didn’t need any of that.
It needed to come from me.
During this call, I actually missed the clip where Russell said, “This is quite possibly the best money I’ve ever spent.”
When I watched it back, it stopped me for a second.
As someone who spends days, nights, and more weekends than I’d like to admit obsessing over how to get wedding venues better results, hearing that meant more than I can put into words.
Not because it’s good marketing. Or a great testimonial (although, it is).
Because another human being recognised the work, trusted us, and took the time to say a real thank you.
That was something.
I stumbled into the wedding industry young.
Serving canapés at 14.
Running the bar at 18.
Falling into marketing at 19.
And somehow now I’m here, working with more than 70 venues.
Life has a funny way of rewarding consistency. You just have to keep showing up.
I’m proud of what I’ve built in my twenties.
I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled.
But what I’m proudest of isn’t the business itself.
It’s the butterfly effect that comes with it.
Russell went from zero weddings to being fully booked. (His words, not mine).
His family gets to breathe a little easier without wondering how the next bills will be paid.
Our team gets to build careers doing work they enjoy.
And every wedding we generate becomes part of someone else’s story too.
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up chasing the next milestone.
This one reminded me to stop for a minute and appreciate how far we’ve come.
Thanks for reading,
Kai
