Just finished building something I'm really proud of!
I've been working on a bus booking system for Nkwenkwede Buses a web platform that brings intercity travel booking into the digital age here in Malawi!
What it does:
Instead of juggling WhatsApp messages and bank transfers just to book a bus ticket, passengers can now search for buses, check prices, select seats, and complete their booking all in one place!
Some cool features I built:
- Real-time bus search and availability
- Interactive seat selection (tracks all 65 seats!)
- Routes across Malawi - Blantyre, Lilongwe, Kasungu, Mangochi, Mzuzu, Nkhotakota
- Works perfectly on phones, tablets, and computers
- Secure login system
- Integrated maps and contact forms
The whole site is fully responsive, so whether you're booking on your phone while on the go or on a computer at home, it works smoothly!
Next steps:
Currently working on integrating a payment gateway so everything can be done 100% online.
This project really pushed my skills and taught me so much about building real-world applications that solve actual problems people face every day.
