Too many children are moving through the early years of school without truly learning how to read, count, or understand. Recent studies have shown that only 19% of children aged 7-14 have foundational reading skills in either Chichewa or English, and only 13% have foundational numeracy skills. When strong foundations are missing, every step that follows becomes harder.
Across Malawi, government and partners have been working to address this challenge, including through the use of technology in classrooms. We believe that when technology is done right - with the learner at the center - it can help change this story.
That belief pushed us to make a bold shift. We chose to focus our energy on creating high-quality, interactive, curriculum-aligned digital learning content for Standards 1 to 4 - content designed for real classrooms, real teachers, and real children.
This work has been carefully tested with learners and teachers, shaped by their feedback, and improved through real classroom experience over the years.
📅 On 31st January, we are launching 𝐍𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 - a FREE online platform for foundational learning, created to support early learners, teachers, and families as they build strong beginnings.
We’re returning with a renewed purpose because, as Damian Marley says "every child deserves to learn".
