What comes on your mind when a hacking topic is being introduce around you? Uncomfortable? Consumed? or happy?? I mean in the world we are living today, trust me, we all want to be aware of what's going on.
You are uploading data everyday online and people will tell you they don't care; Shouldn't we care?
Let's try talk about hacking here and see how you feel about it.
The term 'hacking' on its own its a bit confusing, you might find someone telling you about life hacks, or some hacks to achieve something way quicker than intended, and the other monstrous definition is of gaining unauthorized access to some systems.
I will be talking about the gaining of unauthorized data/access in this post.
So the definition of hacking here is : Gaining unauthorized access to a computer system. These are people or other systems with different intentions, to gain an access into a computer system for fun, malicious purpose, or just testing the system if they would withstand outside environment. People are too scary, you have to test your system before it gets cold..
So lets look at why someone should really become a hacker and where they can learn/work if they become, and what are the types of hackers we have..
We all have heard scare stories about hackers. Hackers taking over airplanes, I mean this just remind me of some old story not the fresh one. hackers hacking the banks, so all you have are bad pictures of people hacking, Let me clear that out for you..
There are different types of hackers, we have:
1). White hat hackers: these are authorized hackers. The ones you call for. These are given authorization to try hack the systems, and if they succeed they are asked to fill the gaps and are paid for their work, if they can not cover the system, they just alert the owner to find someone to secure the system. White hat hacking is the best choice of all if you love being out solving other people's problems and help them stay safe.
2). Black hat hackers: These are the groups of hackers that almost of us heard about. These are offensive typer people. They gain access to computer system just to steal information or cause harm to people and businesses. These people do not care about being paid, you know why? Because they pay themselves. You have to make sure your system is well secure from these typer people.
3). Grey hat hackers. These are hackers who do it for fun, the odds are, they might steal if the opportunity appears but at the end they will inform you that you have the problem, they wont care about being paid or not, and they fall on that space, they can get paid or not. But the fun part is that they have already exploited the loophole and that they have somehow gotten what they wanted and given you what you should have been given.
4) Green hat hackers. These are hackers in training.. Those kids trying find their way around kali and finding exploits are considered to be green hat hackers..
5). Blue hat hackers. These are authorized software hackers, you most likely find these people in law enforcement agencies. These are the boys that will run after you if they suspect your software is not working as intended. These are the geniuses in reverse engineering. Get into Blue house if you wanna hack as a free man
6). Red hat hacker: of all, we have these government hackers. The Red team is capable of doing anything and I mean everything, They can gain unauthorized data, and they can gain authorized access to the systems.. These are people who would do sh*t with no excuse.. Freedom? Hack the government..
So you can see here that, the term hacking was really manipulated and comes scaring..
But I think now its the time the government of my country need to start investing in hacking.. I mean who cares if they invest in Red hat hackers?? All we need is an assurance that we are going to be okie after this..
And us, its the time we need to get crazy with the machines if we can. We need to protect all these airtel money threats before we blame someone again for not watching over us. Its the time we watch over us, because no one will if we do not. IT is our own responsibility now..
Happy hacking
