Job Function

The IT Manager will be responsible for the implementation of systems, delivering the successful implementation of systems; managing engagements and expectations; coordinating all partners involved in an implementation; and achieving business deliverables as documented in the project plan. The IT Manager is also accountable for the IT network and infrastructure service delivery and serves as the first point of contact for IT issues and queries.

Key Performance Areas
• Ensure that projects are managed within budget, resources, risk and time
• Coordinate the implementation of systems with all stakeholders involved
• Proactively contribute innovative solutions to ensure the business operates effectively
• Ensure compliance and governance requirements are adhered to
• Record keeping of vendor agreements managing vendor expenditure
• Cultivate positive relationships with Information Solutions partners, business and external clients
• Ensure that project incidents are tracked, addressed and business expectations managed
• Assist in the definition and implementation of Information Solutions best practices
• Custodian to ensure that Information Solutions policies, procedures, processes, SOP are documented in accordance to the QA system and complied too
• Ensure Information Solutions asset register is updated with Finance
• Ensure that business and IIT is trained on Information Solutions latest version of the SOPs
• Represent Information Solutions at client system audits and ensure that all audit requirements are met, audit findings closed out and feedback given to client and business
• Managing network service providers and ensuring redundancy on the network;

Project Overview
The University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) has received PEPFAR funding from the US government /CDC for Accelerating Malawi’s PEPFAR Laboratory Logistics and Infrastructure for Quality (AMPLIFY). This cooperative agreement aims to achieve and maintain HIV epidemic control. AMPLIFY will strengthen the laboratory efficiency, capacity, and quality through improving laboratory infrastructure, improving laboratory data utilization for decision making, training human resources, and adhering to quality
management systems.

Applications are therefore welcome for the following vacant position:

Data Associate
Data Clerks will report to the Lab Managers through the Lab EID/VL Technical Lead and assist in data entry in molecular labs.

Roles and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Enter project data into the LIMS/database
Make sure all data remains secure.
Verify information for accuracy and make corrections and update data when needed
Eliminate duplicate data from the system
Support the M&E Officer in data collection, analysis and report writing from the assessments carried out in the program.
Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual, and other reports as required.
Assist program staff in setting appropriate indicators, collecting and analyzing data, and maintenance of spreadsheet databases with regular data input.
Participate in operational research activities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
Results driven.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
• A diploma / advanced diploma in computer studies or a related field.
• Minimum one year practical experience working in the M&E field, planning and implementing M&E systems.
• Strong English verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be self-motivated, innovative and able to meet targets in a timely manner.
