On 8th October, we are joining the Caucus for Women in Statistics and Data Science to celebrate the International Day for Women in Statistics and Data Science aimed at empowering the next generation of statisticians and data scientists.

Join us on next tuesday for a virtual mini-symposium at 18:00 CAT where we would like to showcase work from Malawian women in the field.

We’re inviting Malawian women to share how they're using statistics or data science—whether it's part of your work, a project you're involved in, or a skill you're learning. It doesn't have to be groundbreaking research; we simply want to hear about your experiences and applications.

📣 Exciting News!! 📣

We are excited to announce that FemAnalytica has been supported to investigate health-related gender-specific impacts and response mechanisms during and after Cyclone Freddy in Malawi. Thanks to the generous support from the Gender and Public Health Emergencies Group, this initiative marks a significant step forward in our mission to advance Sustainable Development Goals by leveraging the power of data for social good.

The aftermath of Cyclone Freddy has revealed significant disparities that call for a gender-informed approach to addressing health emergencies exacerbated by climate change. By focusing on SDGs such as Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Climate Action (SDG 13), we hope that our data-driven findings will play a pivotal role in shaping more gender-responsive strategies and informing policies to enhance future disaster response efforts and ultimately, promote the health and well-being of communities.

Stay connected for updates as we advance use of data to understand the intersection of gender and health during climate change induced emergencies.
