The government of Mauritius on June 5, 2025, published the 2025-2026 budget, which includes plans to expand the country's electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) mandate to taxpayers with annual revenue of MUR 80 million or more, lowering the threshold from MUR 100 million. Specific deadlines for compliance have not yet been disclosed, but the authorities have indicated that this new group of taxpayers will be required to comply during fiscal year 2025-2026.

The e-invoicing system of Mauritius has been deployed in several phases since 2023. The last of those phases took effect on May 15, 2024, and mandated taxpayers with revenues of MUR 100 million or more to issue e-invoices.

𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗜 ✅
𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿’𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹
Economic Operators having a turnover exceeding Rs. 100 million and who have been notified by the Director-General, under section 20A of the VAT Act, to join the e-Invoicing system, are informed of the go-live of the Economic Operator’s Portal.

The notified operators who have already customised their Electronic Billing System (EBS) to be compliant with MRA’s e-Invoicing specifications are invited to start registering their EBS on the e-Invoicing Portal and they may start issuing fiscal invoices on a voluntary basis.

Relevant information on the registration process together with a list of EBS Solution Providers has also been published on the e-Invoicing Portal of the MRA website: https://www.mra.mu/index.php/eservices1/e-invoicing

The notified Economic Operators who have not yet customised their billing system are requested to complete the process forthwith so as to be able to issue fiscal invoices.

It is to be noted that mandatory issue of fiscal invoices by the above mentioned operators is scheduled to take effect on 𝟭𝟱 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.
