Today is a special day in the United States: Thanksgiving! 🦃 🍁
At oOTARY, two of our oOtarians, Drake and Tony, have been passionately carrying on this tradition for several years ✨
💬 “Being from Chicago, I've been celebrating Thanksgiving since 1986 😁, but I've been preparing it myself since 2006” - Drake, IT Developer
💬 “After experiencing my first Thanksgiving while living in New York for 6 months, I started celebrating Thanksgiving in 2015. Drake and I, together, started organizing it in 2017” - Tony, IT Architect

Every year, the duo organize this party at Tony's home in Alsace, on the weekend closest to Thanksgiving. No public holiday in France? No problem, they adapt! ✌️

Thanksgiving is an excellent opportunity to bring together friends and family from all over the world: Nice, Berlin, Seoul, Los Angeles, Russia, Glasgow, ... 🌎
“At first, it was a bit complicated to organize this party with French people since this tradition is not in our genes.... Then I met Drake and we decided to launch the first edition in 2017. At first there were 10 of us, and now there are over 40, it's great! 🥰” – Tony

They devote about a month to managing the event (numbers attending and sleeping, who brings what, etc.), and a full day to cooking and decorating! They've shared a few photos with us, and we can tell they're pulling out all the stops!!! 🍴 🦃 🥗

A little known tidbit, Drake has a tradition all his own shared with those with whom he celebrates! 😜
When he prepares the turkey(s), it is tradition that those present during the preparation always comes up with a name for it. And this tradition is that the name should be of a historic personality who has disappeared from drowning. This idea comes from the fact that when he prepares the turkey, it is completely submerged in a secret solution for at least 24 hours. Unexpected, isn't it? 😁

Every Thanksgiving, Drake and Tony make a point of inviting the oOtarians too. Strengthening the bonds and family spirit within the team! ❤️

Après avoir soutenu Octobre Rose, oOTARY continue sur sa lancée avec Movember ! 👨

Movember est un mouvement qui sensibilise et soutient les hommes dans la lutte contre les cancers masculins, et qui promeut leur santé mentale ❤️‍🩹
Le principe ? Se laisser pousser la moustache !

Mais pourquoi ?
👉 La moustache est le symbole de cet engagement pour la santé masculine et peut permettre d’ouvrir d’importantes discussions à ce sujet 💡

Chez oOTARY, certains de nos collaborateurs ont fièrement laissé pousser leur moustache, tandis que d’autres, ont trouvé un autre moyen d’apporter leur soutien ! 😉

Top départ pour la saison des Cross Corpos ! 👟

Ce week-end, Sabine, Lilou et Hocine ont participé à la première course de la saison avec énergie et motivation 🏃 Une première course technique et enneigée !
Et ce n’est que le début : 5 autres courses sont déjà au programme dans les semaines à venir 📆

Ambiance décontractée, bonne humeur et motivation étaient au rendez-vous lors de cette activité sportive ! ✌️

The Cross Corpos season is off to a flying start! 👟

This weekend, Sabine, Lilou and Hocine took part in the first race of the season with energy and motivation 🏃 A technical and snowy first run!
And that's just the beginning: 5 other races are already on the programme for the coming weeks 📆

A relaxed atmosphere, good spirits and motivation were the order of the day for this sporting activity! ✌️

Aujourd’hui, c’est la journée mondiale sans papier 📲

Saviez-vous que cela fait déjà plus de 40 ans que le numérique existe ?
Pourtant, tout comme le papier, il peut avoir un impact sur l’environnement en termes d’émissions de carbone 🌿💻

Alors voici trois actions à mettre en place pour des solutions plus écologiques 🌍🌳 :

[oOTARY TALENT]
Aujourd’hui, on vous partage la passion plutôt insolite de Jessy, l’un de nos développeurs : le cani cross / cani VTT ! 🏃🐕

Le cani cross consiste à courir avec son chien, attaché au niveau de la ceinture. Ce sport est décliné de plusieurs façons : cani VTT, cani trottinette tout terrain... Un excellent moyen de partager une activité sportive avec votre compagnon à quatre pattes ! 🐾

« Depuis 3 ans, je pratique le cani cross avec notre malinois, et ma femme fait du cani VTT. Notre chien est très sportif et demande beaucoup d’exercice. En moyenne, on monte à 14km/h par course, donc en général, ce sont des sorties d’une trentaine de minutes que l’on fait deux à trois fois par semaines » nous confie Jessy 😎

Il nous explique que ce sport renforce énormément la complicité avec son chien : « Il sait qu’il doit se donner à fond, être attentif à tout ce que dit son maître (gauche / droite / allez / stop etc.). C’est un réel plaisir pour lui, il nous en demande toujours plus ! » ✌️

Et comme la plupart des sports, il existe des compétitions organisées par la Fédération Française des Sports et Loisirs Canins ! Mais Jessy, lui, le pratique uniquement pour le plaisir 💕

En plus de courir, son chien est également un grand nageur ! « Souvent, on lui fait faire des allers-retours dans le canal à côté de chez nous en lui jetant des jouets, il adore ça ! Il nage en moyenne 1 km à chaque sortie » nous raconte-t-il 🏊 🐾

Il nous a partagé quelques photos de leurs aventures sportives, on craque complètement ! 🤩

Today, we're sharing the rather unusual passion of Jessy, one of our developers: cani cross / cani VTT! 🏃🐕

Cani cross involves running with your dog, attached at waist level. This sport is available in a variety of forms: cani VTT, cani all-terrain scooter... A great way to share a sporting activity with your four-legged companion! 🐾

“For the past 3 years, I've been practicing cani cross with our Malinois, and my wife does cani VTT. Our dog is very sporty and requires a lot of exercise. On average, we go up to 14km/h per run, so in general, it's outings of around thirty minutes that we do two or three times a week” confides Jessy 😎

He explains that this sport greatly strengthens the bond with his dog: “He knows he has to give it his all, pay attention to everything his master says (left / right / go / stop etc.). It's a real pleasure for him, and he always asks us for more! ✌️

And like most sports, there are competitions organized by the Fédération Française des Sports et Loisirs Canins! But Jessy only does it for fun 💕

As well as running, his dog is also a great swimmer! “Often, we make him go back and forth in the canal next to our house by throwing toys at him, he loves it! He swims an average of 1 km on each outing” he tells us 🏊 🐾

He's shared a few photos of their sporting adventures with us, and we're completely smitten! 🤩

A few days ago, a few oOtarians had the privilege of participating in 2024 in Orlando! 🌍 🚀

An exceptional experience marked by enriching encounters, inspiring exchanges, and captivating technological advances around AI and ERP solutions 🤝💡

It was also an opportunity to catch up with some of our partners such as ARCWIDE , K4-U - Groupe Kardol and SLK Consulting, as well as to meet new partners ready to collaborate for the future such as Platned, Enterprise Analytics , HOIST and so many others! 💬

AI and the latest IFS developments were at the heart of the discussions, but it was the links and the spirit of sharing that marked this event for oOTARY. Interviews with our experts, a private evening at Universal Studios, meetings with real sports icons... Every moment reinforced our passion and commitment to IFS! 🎉
