Monday 4th March 2024 Premier League

Sheffield United v Arsenal 21:00

- Played 99 times in the league before, Sheff Utd 35, Draws 23, Arsenal 41

- Already played this season in the league, Arsenal 5-0 Sheff Utd

- Last repeat fixture (Prem 2021), Sheff Utd 0-3 Arsenal

- Nketiah (Arsenal) scored 3 in this season’s head-to-head

- The last 4 head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 GOALS

- 6 of the last 8 head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 GOALS

- 8 of the last 11 head-to-heads saw BTTS (yes)

- Arsenal have lost just 1 of their last 8 vs Sheff Utd

The final Premier League gameweek 27 clash sees title-chasing Arsenal heading to struggling Sheffield United in a match they will be fully expected to get all three points.

This is reflected in the match betting too, with the Gunner on offer at just 1.18, with the draw 7.00 and Sheff Utd as big as 17.00 for the upset.

The sides met earlier this season in the league at the Emirates and that ended in a thumping 5-0 home win for the Gunners – a correct score that can be backed again at 19.00.

Arsenal have also been in rude scoring form in front of goal in the league in – scoring 18 goals in their last four matches.

With this in mind, you can back Arsenal to score over 2.5 goals at 1.72, or over 3.5 goals at 2.75.

While if you’re feeling lucky – over 4.5 goals is at 5.50. Something they’ve managed in two of their last three games.

The sides also last met at Bramhall Lane in the league back in 2021 and that also ended in a convincing 3-0 win for the Gunners.

So, goals could be the order of the day again here – and you suspect most will come from the London side.

Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in ALL of the last four head-to-heads, plus in 6 of the last 8, so this might appeal even at 1.44.

Or you can add another goal (over 3.5 goals), which is on the table at 2.10.

Despite a string of Arsenal wins ‘to nil’, recent head-to-head stats also tell us that both teams to score (yes) has paid out in 8 of the last 11 meetings.

So, if you think Sheff Utd will grab one (and of course Arsenal too), this can be backed at 2.05.

Finally, looking at the scoring markets, Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah scored three in their 5-0 win over Sheff Utd – he can be backed at 5.50 (1st) or 2.25 (anytime).

Saka has also been in great scoring form for the Gunners in recent weeks and is on the table at 5.50 (1st) or 2.25 (anytime), while Martinelli and Odegaard are other names to consider, both at 6.00 (1st) or 2.50 (anytime).

It tells you all you need to know, when there are 14 Arsenal names ahead of the first Sheff Utd player in the scoring markets – who is Cameron Archer at 17.00 (1st) or 6.00 (anytime).

Overall, it will be one of the shocks of the season if Arsenal are not coming away with all three points here, but at 1.18 they are not a backable price.

Instead, though there should be plenty of goals and with that in mind Over 2.5 Goals at 1.44 looks solid, but we’ll take a chance and add one more and opt for Over 3.5 Goals @ 2.10.

Enjoy the game!

Sunday 3rd March 2024

Manchester City v Manchester United 16:30 (CET)

- Played 169 times in the league before, Man City 51, Draw 52, Man Utd 66

- Already played this season in the league, Man Utd 0-3 Man City

- Last season’s repeat fixture ended, Man City 6-3 Man Utd

- The last 5 head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 GOALS (all comps)

- Man Utd are unbeaten in 5 of the last 8 repeat league fixtures

- Man City have lost just 5 of their last 15 league games vs Man Utd

- Man Utd have won 3 of the last 6 repeat fixtures

- Both teams scored in 4 of the last 5 head-to-heads (all comps)

- Haaland (Man City) scored a brace in this season’s H2H

- Fernandes (Man Utd) has scored in 2 of the last 3 H2H’s

The big Premier League week 27 highlight is clearly the all-Manchester Derby as City host United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

This will be their 170th time in the league head-to-head and despite City winning this repeat clash last season it’s United that have the upper hand with 66 wins to City’s 51 (52 draws).

With home advantage, it’s no shock to see Man City as short as 1.30 in the match betting, with the draw 5.50 and Man Utd 9.50.

This season’s clash at Old Trafford ended in a 3-0 away win to City, while this repeat fixture last term also saw plenty of goals that ended City 6-3 United.

However, despite these recent losses to their bitter rivals, United are still unbeaten in 5 of their last 8 vs City and have actually won 50% of the last 6 repeat fixtures.

If you think the Red Devils can avoid defeat here, then you can back them at 3.40 in the Double Chance market.

With the last 5 head-to-heads also ALL going OVER 2.5 GOALS, this might appeal at 1.40, while both teams to score has paid out in 4 of the last 5 meetings and can be supported at an improved 1.75.

In terms of the scoring markets, City’s Erling Haaland netted a brace in this season’s City win and is on the table at 3.20 (1st) or 1.53 (anytime).

While United’s Bruno Fernades has found the back of the net in two of the last three head-to-heads. The Portuguese midfielder is 19.00 (1st) or 6.50 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a game both sides need all three points in, with City in a Premier League title race dogfight with Liverpool and Arsenal.

While, after a good run of form United slipped up last weekend to Fulham and need to get their top-four bid back on track as they now trail fourth-placed Villa by 8 points at the start of this round of games.

With that in mind, and there generally goals when the sides meet – then City look the safe bet with home advantage too. But are no value at 1.30, so we are happy to side with the ‘both teams to score’ option here at 1.75 – on a bet that has paid out in 80% of their last five clashes.

BEST BET: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 1.75

- Arsenal have won 10 of the last 11 repeat fixtures

BEST BET: UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 2.40

Free-scoring Arsenal, who have banged in 14 goals in their last three Premier League games face Newcastle at home next on Saturday night, so last year’s repeat fixture 0-0 scoreline looks unlikely.

The sides also met at St James’ Park in the league this term – which ended in a 1-0 win for the Magpies.

But with home advantage this time and being in a rich vein of form in front of goal sees the match betting odds heavily favour Arsenal at 1.36, with the draw 5.00 and Newcastle at 8.00.

In what will also be the 178th league meeting, it’s a clash that in more recent times have seen ALL of the last six go UNDER 2.5 GOALS, which can be backed at 2.60.

We can also go back further with this Under 2.5 Goal stat that tells us 12 of the last 16 also saw 2 or less goals scored.

Both teams have also NOT scored in 17 of the last 19 (89%), so this might appeal at 2.05.

If you like a dabble in the correct score markets, then 2-0 Arsenal certainly needs to be on your radar as this has paid out in 50% of the last eight head-to-heads in all comps.

The Magpies have also scored only one goal in the last three head-to-heads.

You can back 2-0 Arsenal at 9.00.

In fact, the Gunners have also won 8 of their last 11 vs Newcastle ‘to nil’, which is on the table at 2.50.

With just ONE draw in the last 22 league head-to-heads, then this clash also tends to get a result and with Arsenal winning 10 of the last 11 repeat fixtures it’s hard to argue with the 1.36 on the London side getting all three points here and maintaining their title challenge with Liverpool and Man City.

Finally, into the scoring markets and with 15 goals this season, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka will be popular at 6.00 (1st) or 2.50 (anytime), while the in-form Martin Odegaard is on offer at 6.50 (1st) or 2.62 (anytime).

Arsenal players dominate the scoring markets – with the top 11 in the betting – with the lowest-priced Newcastle player Anthony Gordon, who is 13.00 (1st) or 4.75 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a game that it’s hard to see anything but a win for Arsenal. However, the 1.36 on them winning is still a tad skinny facing a Newcastle team that are capable on their day.

Therefore, Arsenal ‘to win to nil’ looks better value at 2.50 – a bet that’s paid out in 73% of the last 11 clashes.

BEST BET: Arsenal win to nil @ 2.50

Premier League Monday 19th February 2024

Everton v Crystal Palace 21:00(CET)

- Met 47 times in the league before, Everton 20, Draws 16, Palace 11

- Met in the FA Cup this season (0-0 and Everton 1-0 Palace)

- Everton have scored in 17 of their last 23 vs Palace

- Both teams scored in 8 of the last 10 repeat fixtures

- 2 RED CARDS in the last 4 (both Everton)

The Premier League Monday night offering sees two sides towards the bottom of the table – Palace and Everton – face-off, it would be a crucial clash in the relegation stakes this season.

This will be the 48th times the teams have played in the league, with Everton holding the bragging rights with 20 wins to Palace’s 11 (16 draws).

They also met in the FA Cup this season - the game needing two legs to find a winner, with Everton coming out on top in the end.

Looking at the match betting first, it’s Everton that are the big favourites to win at 1.70, with the draw 3.60 and Palace as big as 5.25.

The sides have also met this season at Selhurst Park, which ended in a 3-2 thriller to Everton – you can back a repeat of that score at 34.00.

While this repeat fixture last term ended 3-0 to Everton, which is on offer at 15.00.

So, despite this season’s FA Cup clash the theme generally when these teams meet is goals.

This is backed up with 6 of the last 8 head-to-heads going OVER 2.5 GOALS, which can be backed again at 2.15.

That said, we’ve also had BTTS (no) pay out in 5 of the last 7 (all comps), which is 1.70, but in contrast 80% of the last 10 H2H’s played at Goodison have seen each team in the scoresheet.

It could also pay to note there’s also been a fair few draws when the teams play – 8 of the last 17 league head-to-heads have ended all-square.

If you like betting on the cards, then we’ve had two reds in recent head-to-heads – both for Everton.

Finally, it’s a game that by the time it comes around Palace could have a new manager with Oliver Glasner been in talks with the Eagles in recent weeks.

If he is in place, he’ll face a tall order in this opening game as Palace last won away at Everton in 2014 – 9 repeat league fixtures ago.

Plus, the Toffeemen have lost only one of their last 18 league games vs Palace and the Merseysiders have also netted in 17 of their last 23 (74%) vs the Londoners.

Therefore, if we add in injury woes for Palace that include star players Eze and Olise, and with home advantage, the safer call here looks to side with Everton.

But with 75% of the last 8 league H2H’s ending with OVER 2.5 GOALS, the 2.15 here looks fair value at odds against.

BEST BET: OVER 2.5 GOALS @ 2.15

Premier League Saturday 17th February 2024 Man City vs Chelsea 6:30pm(CET)

Arguably the biggest Premier League match this weekend sees the champions and favourites to lift the title – Man City – hosting Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the Saturday 5:30pm offering.

The sides met earlier this term at Stamford Bridge in a match that ended in a 4-4 thriller, that included a brace from City’s Erling Haaland and a last-minute penalty from former Blue Mooner Cole Palmer.

If you fancy a repeat of that monster 4-4 scoreline, you’ll be rewarded with odds of 251.00.

Chelsea will be on a high after a Monday night win over Palace, while City head here having beaten Everton last weekend and start week 25, just 2 points off Liverpool (with a game in-hand).

The match betting sees City as the big favourites at 1.33, with the draw 5.50 and Cheslea as big as 8.00, to win their first game away at the champions since 2021.

Chelsea have won just two of their last 12 away games at City in all competitions.

Despite their 8-goal thriller this season, this clash last term ended just 1-0 to City, which can be backed at 10.00.

While we’ve also seen 6 of the last 8 clashes go Under 2.5 Goals, which can be backed at 2.60.

Another betting option could be BTTS (no) as this has paid out in 7 of the last 8 league head-to-heads, but it’s also worth noting that City have scored in 20 of their last 21 vs the Blues – winning 5 of their last 7 ‘to nil’.

You can support another Man City win without conceding at 2.50.

Finally, the goal scoring options will, as ever with City, surround Erling Haaland, who is now fully back from injury and was on the scoresheet last weekend too.

Haaland can be backed at 3.25 (1st) or 1.61 (anytime), with his deputy, Julian Alvarez on the table at 4.50 (1st) or 2.00 (anytime).

Then looking at the Chelsea players, Nicolas Jackson is their shortest-priced player at 12.00 (1st) or 4.50 (anytime), with former City man Cole Palmer 13.00 (1st) or 4.75 (anytime). Conor Gallagher, who scored a brace in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Palace on Monday night is 23.00 (1st) or 8.50 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a game City will be expecting to win, but will face a Chelsea side that head into the game full of confidence, so the 1.33 on a home win looks skinny.

With that in mind, both teams ‘not’ to score at 2.00 looks better value for a bet that’s paid out in 88% of the last 8 clashes.
