Christmas in Malta is a feeling. It’s the memories, the traditions, and the people we share them with.

This year, I wanted to create something meaningful, memorable, and lasting. Something that could be enjoyed by everyone, not just my clients. And that’s what inspired Vermata, A nostalgic blend created to honour our roots and the stories passed down through generations. Every element, from design to storytelling, was crafted to bring nostalgia to life. The creative direction embraced deep green tones and vintage typewritten fonts inspired from post-war designs.

Branding and visual identity for the 2025 Malta Book Festival! And to finally share this with you.

‘Writing anew’ / ‘Nikteb mill-gdid’.

Inspired by the look of shelved books, the visual is bold, colourful, clean and vibrant. The designed wordmark is expressed in both English and Maltese and is brought to life through contrasting colours to reflect our dual language identity. The intention behind this design is to visually celebrate stories that are yet to be told and voices that are yet to be heard.

Our Christmas gift this year pays tribute to tradition and local apiculture, with handcrafted multiflora honey from beekeeper Eucharist Portelli’s apiaries in Gozo 🍯

Surrounded by wildflowers, the bees create a unique, flavourful honey, which we’ve packaged in eco-friendly materials. Inspired by the natural hues of honey and local wildflowers, this gift reflects our commitment to sustainability and honours the dedication of local beekeepers.
