„Уште еден чекор, и оживуваме“, просторната инсталација на Клелија Живковиќ, го истражува оживувањето како радикална форма на отпор, отелотворен одговор на системите што функционираат на основа на угнетување, наследен срам и емоционално потиснување. Инсталацијата го истакнува најзначајниот творечки метод на уметницата, а тоа е пишувањето. Извадоци од дневници, белешки од истражувачки процеси и фрагменти од проектни апликации од изминатите пет години во просторот на студиото визуелно се транформираат во читачка соба. Делото го прославува писмото како метод на себеспознание, а пишувањето како чин на заедништво и отворање кон другоста.
За отворањето се одржа уметнички разговор во соработка со Душица Лазова.

Клелија Живковиќ (р. 1989) е трансдисциплинарна уметница од Скопје. Со формално образование во повеќе дизајнерски дисциплини, нејзината практика се поставува како теоретски, материјален и искуствен увид во границите; физичките, психолошките, емоционалните и спиритуалните бариери преку кои се разбираме себеси како суштества што заземаат простор и воспоставуваат врски со своето опкружување.

Klelija Zhivkovikj’s installation “One More Step, and We’re Coming Alive” explores aliveness as a radical form of resistance—an embodied response to systems of oppression, inherited shame, and emotional suppression. The installation centers on one of the artist’s most significant working methods: writing. Journal excerpts, research notes, and project proposal fragments from the past five years are transformed into a visual site-specific reading room. The work celebrates text as a process of self-discovery and writing as an act of togetherness and an opening toward otherness.
For the opening, there was an art talk with the artist in collaboration with Dushica Lazova.

Klelija Zhivkovikj (b. 1989) is a transdisciplinary artist based in Skopje, North Macedonia. Formally trained across several design disciplines, her practice unfolds as a theoretical, material, and experiential inquiry into boundaries — physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual structures through which we understand ourselves as beings who occupy space and establish contact with others and their surroundings. Working across installation, writing, performance, research, and publishing, Klelija approaches art as a process of care, intimacy, and collective reflection.

Her installation “One More Step, and We’re Coming Alive”, which opens on May 7 at PrivatePrint Studii, explores aliveness as a radical form of resistance — an embodied response to systems of oppression, inherited shame, and emotional suppression. Centered on writing as one of her core artistic methods, the work transforms journal excerpts, research notes, and fragments of project proposals from the past five years into a site-specific reading room. The installation treats text as a living material: a space of self-discovery, vulnerability, and togetherness, inviting visitors to encounter writing as an opening toward otherness and shared presence.

Klelija’s artistic trajectory spans research-based and installation practices that intertwine personal narrative with the collective and the surroundings. Her first artist book and solo exhibition Prototyping Tenderness: A Personal Log of a Dying World (2021) introduced care and tenderness as critical artistic methodologies. She received the DENES Award for Young Visual Artists in 2023 and the Ladislav Barisic Award from AICA Macedonia for her research proposal Design for Resurgence in 2022. Her projects and exhibitions include Fear of Love at the French Institute in Skopje, the solo exhibition I’m Not Going Home at the National Gallery – Mala Stanica, exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art-Skopje, and numerous regional and international group presentations exploring memory, embodiment, and collective healing.

A Bright Past Is Ahead of Us is a group exhibition curated by Ilija Prokopiev and Marija Hristova (PrivatePrint), first produced and presented at Škuc Gallery, Ljubljana, in June 2025. In 2026, the project continues at PrivatePrint Studio as a dispersed program of five small solo exhibitions presented throughout the year.

PrivatePrint Arts and Culture Residency announces Dominik Štibernik

We are happy to share that from April 5 to May 3, 2026, Slovenian artist Dominik Štibernik will be part of our Arts and Culture Residency in Skopje. During his residency, he will explore his project Soft Monuments in the urban landscape of Skopje.

Dominik Štibernik (b. 1993) graduated in 2019 from the Academy of Visual Arts Ljubljana. Shortly after, he began assisting Miran Mohar (IRWIN), namely for material research, production, and the restoration of his artworks. Štibernik and Mohar work closely to this day. His artistic practice centers on creating subtle traces—barely perceptible gestures that evade conventional definitions of art and serve as quiet affirmations of existence and personal mythology. A significant milestone in his career is the OHO Award (YVAA) he received in 2024, followed by a two-month residency at Residency Unlimited in New York in 2025. In the same year, he presented the work Selfie in a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Ljubljana (+MSUM). His work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, including Transitory Gestures (Residency Unlimited, New York), Making it. Making what? (P74 Gallery Ljubljana), Bad Impression (Town Hall Ljubljana), and Drawing Inland (Ravnikar Gallery Space Ljubljana).

The residency is co-financed by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje.

“Disposable Bodies,” a video installation by Lara Reichmann, interweaves historical fact and fiction, drawing on the story of the Women Astronomical Computers, women employed at the Harvard Observatory in the late 19th century, documenting and mapping stars in the night sky. The video installation, with its historical background and the very setting, uses metaphor and poetic narrative to question who is remembered and how bodies become tools in data-centric systems.

Lara Reichmann (1995) is a visual artist based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, working in the fields of video, animation, and digital graphics. Combining historical fragments with fictional narratives, she (re)imagines stories of forgotten, erased, or elusive places, as well as figures who exist on the margins of recorded history.

Lara Reichmann's installation in Skopje is realized in coproduction with Škuc Gallery Ljubljana. A Bright Past Is Ahead of Us, 2026 edition, is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of North Macedonia.
